Congo- Fighting continues- Caritas asks for 1.5 million dollars in aid- in order to supply non-food aid

"The five-month project will provide household articles such as blankets, hygiene products and cooking equipment to 15,000 families who have lost their homes and possessions in the violence." (Caritas Internationalis 02/10/08), according to Caritas in a media release. Fighting by government and rebels has continued despite a peace treaty. Caritas only mentions that the government had signed this.

They are asking for 1.5 million dollars to help sort out the basic needs of those affected.
