Attacking cars, burning tires... to get to host the ANC centenary flame... or to protest lack of services... one or the other!
Good to see they aren't attacking innocent cars anymore! I'm glad Beyers Naude has re-opened! This reminds me of Fees riots at Witswatersrand... the protestors may lack services, but they don't mind hurting people in motorvehicles. My one friend had to pay a fortune to get a car fixed, after they smashed her windscreen at Wits!
as for the stated reason:
'Minnaar said the residents were protesting because they wanted to host the ANC centenary flame.
"We now know why they were protesting, they wanted the ANC centenary flame to go to Zandspruit." But media reports from the scene said the protest was related to service delivery in the area.' - SAPA | 2012-06-13 12:43 SAST
Well done ANC... I hope the other 'candidates' don't make a display of 'loyalty' soon!
