Access and communication with the Pope is difficult and very few have access to him, this was his choice and preference unlike his previous successor, but vital information which should be communicated to him can be missed or not relayed at all ... the Vatican admits this is the worst form of non-communication they can ever remember in history. Pope Benedict XVI lifted an ex-communicaton ban before he had all his ducks lined up and not enough facts given to him to make this type of ruling. He was not given any information on this at all.
