The LRA, has been accused of recent atrocities in Southern Sudan, and in other countries. Some groups blame the violence, on racism already present, in which: Rabbi's already, often could not go out on the streets, wearing their uniforms: and say, that this recent violence, has only been, basically a cover and excuse, to attack one's compatriots. Recently, a Jewish Rabbi, in Italy, use a publication, of the recently infamous Jesuits, in order to attack the papacy. The Pope postponed the canonization of a previous pope 9World War II pope), until further evidence of his innocence, can be released from archives; and has been the target of attacks from supporters of a major Israeli party. Racism, is considered the sin of Superstition, in Catholic beliefs, and wrong.
This stance against the persecution of Jewish people in France, in a sort of "Collective Punishment", is against wrong, and wrongs which are rightly apposed. While Israel, has as a state been accused of extremely disproportionate force, in response to the unjustifiable terrorist attacks on Israel, by terrorist grouping Hamas (Acronym for: "Islamic Resistance Movement"): those supporting the rights of the Jewish people, or else supporting their war efforts, throughout the world: in counter-marches: have been seemingly remarkably well behaved. Almost every march in support of the terrorist grouping Hamas: or at least, a large proportion of such, has either involved the burning of flags, or else violence, or violence after the fact.
Canada, was recently, one of the only, of about thirty states, on a certain council, to vote against condemning Israel: European states abstained from such vote, and America called that council biased.
Catholic stances against the conflict in the Gaza Strip, so far as the official stances go: have always been careful to condemn the violence, but not ignore the situation, whereby it was started by Terrorist attacks on Israel, and whereby Israeli counterstrikes have also caused massive collateral damage. Condemning one side, without the other: can result in backlash against more innocents, as has happened in France, and likely elsewhere.
Some time ago, France saw violent riots, by Muslim immigrants, which saw car burning, it is not unexpected, that an immigrant population, which did such: would also; take to firebombing French civilians. The result of condemnations, such as those by the South African government: focussed only on Israel: is only further violence. Even if the ANC, communist affiliated, South African Government, much like the Socialist Spanish Governments's: Spanish Socialists has condemned largely one-sided-ly; this does not mean that this sprouting of violence is due to them: but it certainly has something to do with the choice of some people to make similar statements.
Notably absent in these appeals, is the "Union of French Islamic Organisations (UOIF)", which has called for further protests against Israel. Militants also, regularly in Strasbourg, where a mayor joined calls for calm: hold protests.
In Italy, a group of Islamic Protesters, recently stopped in front of a Catholic Cathedral, and then a train station, bowing down to pray. This caused anger in the more conservative sections of the Italian parliament, with claims: that if Catholics were to pray the rosary in front of Mecca: they'd "be" shot for such an act.
Jewish groups: in different countries, have complained of a rise in antisemitism: probably largely caused by a one sided; out of context portrayal of the conflict: by many people. Just as in the bible: words carry life and death: by words, rockets were launched into Israel, by indisputable terrorists, and by the same part of the body, Israel returned fire. By words, also: horrid, and unjustifiable attacks on those of Jewish descent, are being carried out. It is not only the Catholic Church, and religious leaders, and France: and others, who should be condemning this. Other nations, also: should be taking a stand: the Hatred, maintaining this war, which is the cause, according to pope Benedict XVI: cannot be viewed as purely within the walls of Gaza, and Israel. This hatred is international, and seen, or fed in every statement, which is disproportionate on this situation.

Italian Rabbi Accuses Pope and some Discussions Stop
Strained relations between Catholics and Jews had made great advances during the 27 year-long reigning of Pope John Paul, who passed in 2005. He was the first pope to ever take a tour through a synagogue and pressed for relations with Israel and the Vatican. The fact that Pope Benedict XVI, has done the same, and more: even putting off the canonization, of a previous pope, in order to wait for secret Vatican archives to be compiled, to prove his innocence, as pope during World War II, is even more evidence of his kindness to the Jewish people. Those defending the man, include Jewish people.
Some Jews feel all the advancement that was made is being lost under the papacy of Benedict because of his will to make traditional Catholic identity his "only" number one priority. The fact, that the word ___ was recently excluded from Catholic public Worship, to accommodate Jewish people, and that the pope has not taken any biased view against Israel, and the French Catholics, have publicly made a stand for protection of French Jewish people is excluded by these Italian Jews.
A rabbi on Tuesday, Jan 13, 2009, Elia Enrico Richetti, chief rabbi of Venice, outspokenly flatly accused the Pope of destroying 50 years of progress with the Catholic-Jewish dialogue and said the Italian Jews will definitely be boycotting the annual Church celebration of Judaism, January 17, 2009.
The persecution in Jews, has increased since attacks on Hamas, a terrorist grouping, and statements, by a cardinal, who called the Gaza Strip: a concentration camp: may be the real source of these accusations. Interestingly, they appeared in a Jesuit publication, another worrying sign about the Jesuit movement: and more evidence why: at their last general conference: the Pope was so concerned, that they renew their pledge of loyalty to him.
They said their discussions with Vatican officials over their decision to revise a traditional prayer last year, a call to save Israel and convert them. The Jews felt infuriated over this move. They strongly feel this was just patronizing them or belittling the Jews. The Jews feel it wrong, that an old prayer: asking for the salvation of All Israel, has been reintroduced, due to Catholic Ecumenism, with the SSPX schism. They are insulted with the Catholic belief that they should recognize Jesus Christ as the savior of all men.
This current problem being dealt with is considered by some as secondary to add to the first issue that the Jews feel the wartime Pope Pius XII who reigned from 1939 - 1958, didn't offer any substantial support during their crucial time of need through the Holocaust. The Vatican states that is a false statement and Pius had worked behind the scenes to help save the Jews. some Jews are requesting the Pope to reconsider making Pius a saint, the pope responded, by delaying the issue, some time ago: so that all evidence could be made public, an issue, which would cost, Vatican time and money. Recently, a major Israeli party's fan website: had a picture of Pope Benedict XVI, along with Nazi imagery. Both that, and recent strains, have been putting some doubt about a coming visit, into the minds of many!
Benedict was to visit the Holy Land sites in Israel but the visit, to some seems highly unlikely because of Israel's involvement with Gaza at this time. Pope Benedict XVI: however, did not withdraw, after a personal attack on his own integrity, the likelihood of him withdrawing, because of an Italian Rabi, is very small, and the Gaza Strip situation, may be all the more reason to visit Israel.

Known for stances: that people having sex in public toilets: expect privacy, support for homosexuality, abortion, contraception, and polygamy: the ACLU ("American Civil Liberties Union"): has taken to attacking a US government contract, which employed the USCCB (United States Conference of Catholic Bishops), to help protect the rights of those victim to human trafficking, via a court case against the US federal government. The employment, was allegedly, via US $ 6 000 000 (United States Dollars: Six Million), in grants: which where given between 2006, and 2008: towards the fighting of human trafficking, a field in which the church has been quite involved in: in fighting human trafficking that is.
The Pro-Abortion, ACLU: whose other cases involve, a push to redefine the word "couple", to refer to a group, instead of two: whose antics: have at times caught the ire of those really supporting human rights: claim that the fact that the Catholic Church, has stated that they won't fund abortions, and contraception for those involved in Human trafficking, is against the "rights" of those in human trafficking. Representation of the church: says that the Bishops Conference, is the best suited organization, in America, to deal with victims of human trafficking. It might also be noted, that abortion, defined as an intrinsic evil, in catholic dogma, and the ethics, of many: is a separate issue from Human Trafficking. Surely, supplying condoms to those escaping human trafficking: is not as effective, if effective at all, as getting them out of such: in fact, it seems to send the entirely wrong message, as with all condom campaigns: which are largely unsuccessful, as compared other programs: at curbing the spread of disease.
Recently, an American hospital, threw a woman's baby out, literally with the trash, by the time she'd returned, to claim it for a funeral: it was no longer available: having been dumped. The hospital is using as its defense that the child was allegedly "Stillborn"; the Mother contests that the baby was alive, they even brought a blanket for it. If the baby was stillborn, under the law of the State of New Jersey, the child is considered not a person, but an object: whereby the hospital would by law: get away with throwing the baby out (CMR 07 / January / 2009).
American President Elect, Barak Hussein Obama, known for his voting for euthanasia, in the case of failed abortions, plans to remove parental consent, and just about all restrictions on Abortion, in all American states, including forcing insurance companies to pay for abortive pills, and US taxpayers to foot abortion bills, this is part of a promise he made to American Abortionists, "Planned Parenthood", who were implicated, in a situation last year, where their international arm, along with the US Population Control department, and some UN representation: they attempted to enforce, via legislation: which could be defined as an article 2, section d, genocide (according to the UN definition of Genocide*), on the Philippines( c.f. Philippines, Asia, Eurasia: Bishops draft own bill against contraception happy liberals! Recently after attempts to instill a 2 child limit on the nation 20 / 11 / 2008) . Laws, looked into, and promoted by outgoing President Bush, which prevent doctors, from being forced to perform abortions, in the US, are some of the things, which US President Elect, Obama, will overturn, if his word is to be taken on the matter. The fact that many of Mr Obama's appointments to political office appear to be motivated, via their ideological beliefs: has concerned many people. Allot of his appointments, appear to be based on candidates pro-abortion stance: as he plans to front the biggest push for the abortion industry, ever to hit America. "Planned Parenthood", are among those who seem most overjoyed at the promises Obama gave them, "Planned Parenthood": who already teach sex education in schools, despite being the major American abortion firm, they are, are expected to get more legislative support: for their conquering of the Sex education system in America: despite statistics, showing that more students who are taught by their program: have teenage pregnancies, that those taught by other programs.

The Pro-Abortion, ACLU: whose other cases involve, a push to redefine the word "couple", to refer to a group, instead of two: whose antics: have at times caught the ire of those really supporting human rights: claim that the fact that the Catholic Church, has stated that they won't fund abortions, and contraception for those involved in Human trafficking, is against the "rights" of those in human trafficking. Representation of the church: says that the Bishops Conference, is the best suited organization, in America, to deal with victims of human trafficking. It might also be noted, that abortion, defined as an intrinsic evil, in catholic dogma, and the ethics, of many: is a separate issue from Human Trafficking. Surely, supplying condoms to those escaping human trafficking: is not as effective, if effective at all, as getting them out of such: in fact, it seems to send the entirely wrong message, as with all condom campaigns: which are largely unsuccessful, as compared other programs: at curbing the spread of disease.
Recently, an American hospital, threw a woman's baby out, literally with the trash, by the time she'd returned, to claim it for a funeral: it was no longer available: having been dumped. The hospital is using as its defense that the child was allegedly "Stillborn"; the Mother contests that the baby was alive, they even brought a blanket for it. If the baby was stillborn, under the law of the State of New Jersey, the child is considered not a person, but an object: whereby the hospital would by law: get away with throwing the baby out (CMR 07 / January / 2009).
American President Elect, Barak Hussein Obama, known for his voting for euthanasia, in the case of failed abortions, plans to remove parental consent, and just about all restrictions on Abortion, in all American states, including forcing insurance companies to pay for abortive pills, and US taxpayers to foot abortion bills, this is part of a promise he made to American Abortionists, "Planned Parenthood", who were implicated, in a situation last year, where their international arm, along with the US Population Control department, and some UN representation: they attempted to enforce, via legislation: which could be defined as an article 2, section d, genocide (according to the UN definition of Genocide*), on the Philippines( c.f. Philippines, Asia, Eurasia: Bishops draft own bill against contraception happy liberals! Recently after attempts to instill a 2 child limit on the nation 20 / 11 / 2008) . Laws, looked into, and promoted by outgoing President Bush, which prevent doctors, from being forced to perform abortions, in the US, are some of the things, which US President Elect, Obama, will overturn, if his word is to be taken on the matter. The fact that many of Mr Obama's appointments to political office appear to be motivated, via their ideological beliefs: has concerned many people. Allot of his appointments, appear to be based on candidates pro-abortion stance: as he plans to front the biggest push for the abortion industry, ever to hit America. "Planned Parenthood", are among those who seem most overjoyed at the promises Obama gave them, "Planned Parenthood": who already teach sex education in schools, despite being the major American abortion firm, they are, are expected to get more legislative support: for their conquering of the Sex education system in America: despite statistics, showing that more students who are taught by their program: have teenage pregnancies, that those taught by other programs.

This situational report, by Reuters: is largely based on a release, by the office of Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki's office, even as Reuters, but not the Kenyan government: notes the role of violence in the situation. Kenya, has seen human rights violation related accusations, and electoral violence in recent times, and accusations: of death squads, and the resulting reduction in tourism, a recent drought has hit it hard.
Kenya, will now, among other measures: begin to import: 5 000 000 (Five Million) additional bags of maize due to a shortfall: largely blamed on 2007 election violence, which resulted in +-1 300 (One Thousand, and Three Hundred) deaths, and +-300 000 (Three Hundred Thousand) people being driven from their homes, due to violence.

The Cholera Epidemic, has only had a negative situation on the situation (Social Justice South Africa; South Africa: "Jik For Zim": Local Catholic Project, we were alerted to by the Information Officer of the SACBC 13 / Jan / 2009), with +- 1 700 (One thousand Six Seven hundred) Deaths, and +-36 000 (Thirty Six Thousand) cases reported, on our last checking up on such. A press release, sent out a few days ago, and posted today by us, showed much lower figures, but this is likely due to the rate of increase in infection, or perhaps other factors, as to accuracy.

"A Cholera outbreak over the last five months has killed over 1,700 people with 36,000 cases reported.
Caritas will provide monthly food rations to 164,000 people, 88,800 school children with a midday meal at school, and farming training to 4,600 homes. Caritas will give 16,000 homes access to clean water and provide 5,000 people with basic health care.
Caritas Internationalis Secretary-General Lesley-Anne Knight said, “People will die in Zimbabwe unless they receive urgent humanitarian assistance. At least five million people need food aid but many more are going hungry. The high mortality from Cholera indicates an extreme international emergency."

"A Caritas nationwide survey in October-November 2008 showed that between 70 and 90 percent of families are barely managing to feed themselves. The worst affected areas are Masvingo, Bulawayo and Hwange, followed by Gokwe, Mutare and Gweru, then Harare and Chinhoyi.
Only 5 to 10 percent are receiving food aid. Most are picking wild foods, selling their animals or household items, or carrying out sex work to survive.
Deaths from hunger have been reported and Caritas expects the situation to worsen as the hungry season peaks from January to March. Caritas has reported 200 cases of children fainting at school due to lack of food.
The Caritas appeal with target the most vulnerable people in Zimbabwe such as women- and child-headed households, children, the sick and the elderly. "

The partners in this in Zimbabwe, plan to distribute the bleach, along with information on how to use it: to over 1 000 villages, or communities.
Cholora, is spread via contaminated food and water supplies.
A teaspoon of Jik, according to the article, will purify about 25 litres of water, in +-12 hours. Likely over 1 600 people have died of Cholora in Zimbabwe's recent epidemic so far, which has spread to 10 Zimbabwean provinces, and over the South African border. Gaza Strip: palestine: Caritas Jerusalem medical point hit in Gaza strip; children cry, people in freezing weather: and other horrors on the ground

Caritas Internationalis, reports, that a local medical point: treating the people of Gaza: set up by Caritas Jerusalem, has been hit, by what they are calling an Israeli F-16 Fighter Jet. It was one of six points in the area. According to reports, given by the humanitarian umbrella organization: people are in dire situations: having lost everything: many stay in schools. There are stories, of three to a blanket, in "freezing" cold, and of the trauma experienced by children. A quote given from a source on the ground, as Caritas Jerusalem continues to work: feeding 3 000, having given many medical supplies to hospitals; and taking care of minor needs: they say: that Israel has given them the three hour daily window: when they should have given them a door.

Conflict in the Gaza Strip reemerged, after Terrorist grouping: Hamas: launched too many missiles into Israel, having shot first, after a 6 month ceasefire: causing public opinion in Israel to favor a counterstrike of the current proportion, or of lesser proportion: so as to stop rocket strikes against Israeli civilians. Israel's government, which was seen as too "soft" on the Gaza Strip issue, by many in Israel, was spurred on by public anxiety: with rocket-fire being aimed at their civilians: so as to launch an assault on the Gaza Strip: not controlled by the Palestinian government: but by Hamas. Caritas Internationalis, reports, that a local medical point: treating the people of Gaza: set up by Caritas Jerusalem, has been hit, by what they are calling an Israeli F-16 Fighter Jet. It was one of six points in the area. According to reports, given by the humanitarian umbrella organization: people are in dire situations: having lost everything: many stay in schools. There are stories, of three to a blanket, in "freezing" cold, and of the trauma experienced by children. A quote given from a source on the ground, as Caritas Jerusalem continues to work: feeding 3 000, having given many medical supplies to hospitals; and taking care of minor needs: they say: that Israel has given them the three hour daily window: when they should have given them a door.
A representative of the Humanitarian Organization: Caritas Internationalis: says:
"Thankfully, since all of the families from the homes had already fled the violence and were staying in various schools in the district, nobody was hurt in the bombing.
Indeed, the day after the bombing took place another medical clinic was destroyed by another Israeli bomb. On Saturday, a clinic run by the Middle Eastern Council of Churches in Al-Shuja’ia, east of Gaza City was completely destroyed by another fighter jet.
Not only now have Caritas Jerusalem lost one of their six local medical points in Gaza, but the people of Maghazi are temporarily without medical support and over $10,000 worth of medical equipment was destroyed. Caritas Jerusalem staff are now struggling to stretch their operations to Maghazi from the existing point at Al Mosaddar.
The bombing at the clinic comes at a time when medical supplies are severely depleted throughout Gaza. Since the medical points had decided to focus on minor injuries, thereby freeing up the hospitals for more serious cases, Caritas Jerusalem had already shared much of its stock of equipment to four hospitals. These include such essentials as adrenaline, syringes and alcohol. As the Caritas outlets come under severe pressure, the strain on the already-overloaded hospitals will only worsen.
Fr Manuel Musallam, the Parish Priest of Gaza, said in a telephone conversation from Beit Hanoun this morning, “There are dead bodies lying on the streets. The clinics are carrying out operations on the floor and women have no place to give birth.”"

Conflict in the Gaza Strip reemerged, after Terrorist grouping: Hamas: launched too many missiles into Israel, having shot first, after a 6 month ceasefire: causing public opinion in Israel to favor a counterstrike of the current proportion, or of lesser proportion: so as to stop rocket strikes against Israeli civilians. Israel's government, which was seen as too "soft" on the Gaza Strip issue, by many in Israel, was spurred on by public anxiety: with rocket-fire being aimed at their civilians: so as to launch an assault on the Gaza Strip: not controlled by the Palestinian government: but by Hamas. Israel has been accused of "disproportionate" force: in their response to the attack: by Caritas Internationalis, who also condemn rocket strikes into Israeli: by Hamas (An acronym in Arabic for: Islamic Resistance Movement).

� provide primary health care services and post-operative out-patient care to Gaza residents through its Caritas Medical Centre, mobile clinic and 6 medical points � assist 4 of the Gaza hospitals in dealing with the crisis, through the provision of medicines and supplies, including 2 ICU ambulances � provide supplementary food parcels to 4,000 families � provide hygiene kits to 2,000 families � provide financial support in the form of cash to 2,000 families and � provide blankets to 1,000 families.

I, and others on their press releases list: have received an email basically showing that representation of the Bishops, has heard the recent judgment, and seem to be watching events unfolding in the press. We have not, however, had therein: a direct statement clearly on a perspective. So far, they simply brought attention to the verdict, to us, and others who were emailed by our contact there.
I do not endorse the following link, but a source in the hierarchy, sent it to me, so I thought it likely is somewhat accurate (The article), the full judgment (linked to in the article, and indirectly in the email), also: I do not guarantee, nor does this mean that our contact guarantees such.
To my knowledge, they have yet to make any statements as to the current judgment. Representation of the hierarchy, certainly has seen, and is clearly interested in it's importance. It means Jacob Zuma can be retried in court.

The judgment of a previous Judge : had dethroned South Africa's president: and caused a political crisis. Now the prosecution's case against ANC president Jacob Zuma, by the NPA, has been allowed to proceed. Many of Zuma's actions have been called into question, as well as the previous judgment. Shabir Shaik, Zuma's financial advisor was sent to prison: for a "Generally" "Corrupt" relationship it is alleged he has had with Jacob Zuma. Following this, and recent evidence, as well as Zuma's chances of becoming president heightening: the NPA (National Prosecuting Authority) decided to prosecute Zuma, a choice which had been overturned by a lower court, and was upheld today.
Accusations against South Africa's President, at the time, and others of conspiracy against Zuma (discounted as baseless in legal terms: by the overruling judge in the case), during a previous proceeding, under a judge in a lower court, by a certain Judge Nicholson, who had ruled to curb proceedings at the time: of prosecution, had been used by Zuma allies to purge their party of Thabo Mbeki, the president of the country at the time, and of his supporters, even resulting in By-Elections, in which the ANC lost many wards, despite voter intimidation, in areas where they took it apon themselves to register late, and in areas: where they competed for wards, where ANC leaders had once been voted in.
A woman was stoned during other previous proceedings against Zuma, allegedly by his followers, in a case of mistaken identity, when they believed it was the woman (Now in Exile), who accused the current communist affiliated ANC president of rape. If she retracts her statements, and only then, according to local news: will the ANC guarantee her safety in South Africa.
Zuma supporters, have also called for the "annihilation" of the DA, South Africa's current main opposition, also: ANC members have been accused of threatening, or intimidating voters, of political violence, and have said they are prepared to seemingly take up arms and "Kill for Zuma", statements promptly mimicked by Afrikaners, who said they would take up arms to protect the Constitution of South Africa. A judge was accused of meddling in the Zuma trial, by approaching two different judges, and new political Party: COPE, found it odd, when police would not allow them to take to the streets in promotion of their conference: after the ANC, suddenly decided to hold an event nearby: riot police turned up to keep COPE in check.
COPE, gets much of its support, partly from supporters of dethrowned ANC president Thabo Mbecki: who had been resident president since previous elections, in which he got into power: until such time, as Polokwane, when Zuma supporters Voted Jacob Zuma as ANC preident: the officials of the elected ANC, where often replaced.
Many of the members of COPE, like those of the ANC: were previously staunch ANC members, under Mbeki: and perhaps prior this: what is interesting: is that we have not been able to find any objection by leading current members of COPE, such as "Terror" (nicknamed for soccer performance: former defense minister) Lekota, when the ANC forced all Members of Parliament in their party to vote for allowing mass, and radical legal abortion, which violates the "rights" of conscientious objectors to object to partaking in abortion, and they also were not vocal enough, if vocal or absent at all to even be heard by Scripturelink, should it have been possible: when the ANC forced through "gay marriage", if they objected at all: we have no record of such: and which we have no record of, has not had any major statements to the contrary, from these men, as far as we have heard. 9 in every 10 South Africans appose abortion, and 4 out of every 5: consider homosexual acts to always be wrong.
The ANC recently disbanded the Scorpions; in a time, when several ANC members were under investigation for serious crimes. The Constitutional Court of South Africa: recently upheld the move to disband the Scorpions: South Africa's FBI: as constitutional.
All my facts are based on proceedings aired on E Television, and local secular news sources: ETV is South Africa's independent news, and entertainment channel (i.e. the other three are government controlled; while DSTV, is satellite and paid audience). Contact them for any errors, but tell me also.
A South African Bishop, recently also said that due to the actions of men: in which he included the Zuma scenario: that South Africa was on the slide to "Sin and Ruin", this was by Archbishop Buthi of the Archdiocese of Johannesburg.

Real Life Priests are Rock'in
A trio of Roman Catholic priests from Ireland have rocked the music world with their beautiful voices. This time instead of local performances within theatres international fame has become theirs almost instantly after releasing their first CD. Since November 2008, around Thanksgiving and throughout the Christmas holidays they have skyrocketed to fame with sales of CD’s worldwide. Their self-titled album “The Priests” is definitely worth a listen regardless of your taste in music, these guys sing like angels and watching them perform comes across totally effortlessly.
The Priests consist of Father Eugene O’Hagan (48), Father Martin O’Hagan (45) and Father David Delargy (44), all three currently practicing Roman Catholic Priests from Northern Ireland. Both O’Hagan’s come from a very musical background and old school friend Delargy. They grew up singing together and studying for the priesthood along with their love of music.
When the O’Hagan brothers told their mother they were joining the priesthood, she did not want them to ever give up singing and wanted them to continue to always use their talent. Their father said when he seen them on the news recently that their mother, who also had a fabulous voice, would have been very proud, she passed 4 years earlier. Both priests believe she was pulling strings up above with their success to fame.
Apparently, Sony was pumped when they heard the demo and after one week signed them to a 1.25 million deal. St. Augustine said that “He who sings prays twice”. After thirty years singing together, more with his brother, they all are quite enjoying the fame since they have been discovered.
Sony had been head hunting musicians to record a Latin Mass and wanted a priest as the main singer. They heard about the O’Hagan brothers and then the brothers along with their friend put together a demo CD, submitted it and thought that was probably the end of it.
They sing spiritually inspired tracks, classical arias and traditional Irish tracks. They have such passion and great harmonies together it is simple amazing the gift and talent they have.
The album was recorded with the Choir of Philharmonic Academy of Rome in Ireland and in the Choir Chapel in St. Peter’s Basilica, Vatican City.
All monies made from their success is being donated to charity. Their contract contains a cause specifying no promotional duties that interfere with their day jobs or in anyway will they participate in anything that has conflict towards their religious beliefs. Their first job is with God as priests.
The Priests have been certified as the having the fastest selling UK debut for a classical act by the Guinness World Book of Records and has achieved gold status in Canada.
So when I asked a friend to recommend a group/band that sang spiritual or religious music and he said “The Priests” believe me I was certainly wondering if it was a joke and thought what kind of group names themselves The Priests, well priests do and they really are. Then I recently watched an interview they gave and it was simply just very nice to listen to them, they are very cool. They also happen to sing one of my much loved renditions of Ave Maria astonishingly!! The music is pumping through their veins, they are modest and no doubt a fabulous trio we should keep our eyes on.

Chastity and lust: a guide on lust for the scrupulous

What is lust: is loving beauty, breathing it in, holding the breath, and loving it? Surely, no: this is not the pursuit of sexual pleasure outside of the correct context and disposition. it is not the pursuit of sexual pleasure, but of beauty. Is love of the human form such: but this is not the case: Michael Angelo's art: Catholic art proves this. To draw in strength from a woman one loves: this is not lust, and to mildly admire the human form, is also not lust.

Love in this form may be pleasurable, and one can love pleasure, but not so as to view the partner as simply a means to such, and not a person and, if in proportion, where maintaining, and promoting, expressing unity, and openness to childbirth, are not kept from this exchange: but to trade sexual pleasure: is a wrong reason to do so. Further, love: for a child, is not only natural, it is moral: so far, as the love itself is selfless: and it can only be, if the ideals, and concerns of the two: are concerns of one body: if both are selfless: as can only occur in in this act, when in marriage: and this is the dual: reciprocal selflessness: into which children must be born: loved: cared for. That said, a lack of this is not a reason to murder the child: just as a lack of our desires is no reason to kill ourselves: a person is a person, no matter how small, and also: even when they are vulnerable to death: which makes our body a corpse, to be respected, but oft considered: a "person" no more. Love, Christian love: can only refer to selflessness. It is unconditional: and this is the place for married love.
To reduce a living, breathing, moving human form to the body, and what pleasure it can give, this is evil: it is illogical, and it is wrong, and to view a person as an object of therapeutic, or pleasure endorsing material, and in this exclude them as a person: this also is a form of lust. Should one long for marriage in the mind, one must remember not to long for sexual pleasure: but for a relationship, in which sexual pleasure is just a small part, and in which this pleasure is nothing but a reward from God: for pursuing to manifest him properly, and for pursuing unity, and family, with this act: but not sexual pleasure for sexual pleasure's sake: and that those who do so outside of such, misrepresent God as not selfless, and not life, nor open to life: they say that God does not love God: for God himself; we know eternally maintains God: via his eternal love.

This is how those lucky: saved in Baptism of Desire (I am speaking of Lumen Gentium XVI: Vatican II's Salvation outside the visible boundary of the Sacramental Holy Roman Catholic Church): are saved: in that given the opportunity, they would seek God properly. This is also how one, repentant of their sin, on the way to confession, dying in the car: should likely also see heaven: for they would confess. This is also why lust is the matter of mortal Sin: it is as mortal a sin as adultery; though easier to commit: and excludes perhaps the wrath of adultery, and other sins contained in that treasury; making it possibly less grave, but still the matter of mortal sin.
Now, should a couple not be utterly selfless, this does not make their relations evil: marriage is the only way to know for sure, and if both parties understand it, have no impediment to it, and plan to lifelong enter the child rearing, unifying relation of marriage, understanding its indissolvable, eternal, and contextual nature, and able to fulfill it: the bond is created.
Still, the act itself must be pure, the spilling of seed outside its place, such as when it is not placed in a certain area of the body, of a legitimate partner, or degrading practices, or cruelty, and hatred manifest in it: should be kept away: and the act itself must be freely done: and must be open to life. Also: one should focus on both in such a thing: unity, and openness to family, and a bond for as long as both do live, and on God, also: who is Love: the nature we mimic in such. It is evil even here to pursue pleasure itself, without unity, without caring for the other, and respecting their freedom, and dignity in such.
So, lust is both the "plan", the conscious desire, the willingness: manifest in certain thoughts and endorsement of certain desires: to commit acts of lust; but also: is everything higher on such scale in this. To endorse desires for the sin of lust, is the sin of lust, this is the nature of this sin.
Kissing, outside of marriage for the sake of sensual pleasure: this is sinful: even as kissing as a sign of love, friendship, or fidelity is not: but if one kisses for physical sexual pleasure, and the other for love: is not the other allowing his fellow to sin. One must be careful with kissing: that it not be lustful, as with touching: these when outside of marriage: cannot be for pleasure, even when as signs of affection; even when pleasure is gained from such.
Actions involving certain organs: however: can only be done when the requirements for unity, and for openness to childbirth: and in marriage, and these actions can only be the actions for which God designed these organs: and not unnatural simulation of certain conditions the body is programmed to respond to. There: is not exception to some acts being sinful. Masturbation, is always evil, intrinsically evil.
The person who is raped, against their will: however, does not seem to sin, least their sin is some other action: of their own: such as willfully entering into relations with the attacker, beyond what saves the life, and "reputation" (Modern Catholic Dictionary).
Yet, many a person is sainted for dying while fighting the aggressor off: such a fight to survive is not evil, nor the fight for one's dignity, in which the life is lost in pursuit of chastity: but direct suicide to avoid rape: is sinful: in fact, in ancient Israel: the Woman had to shout for help when raped, by their law.
One; like when facing a dangerous animal, or other such things: should do what they can to protect dignity (chastity) and life. One cannot be held accountable for evil done to them: only for evil which they are responsible for. What one does out of reasonable fear for their life, often is not what they would otherwise do. Saint Philomena, was sainted: for refusing to marry the Roman emperor, and dying a horrid death, as with another: yet being a victim of violence is not one's fault. But, I am not an expert on morality in this section. The resistance required: that one be guilty of nothing when raped: is to resist internally with the will, and also: to with one's physical and moral ability as long as the life and "reputation" is not endangered to a certain, horrid extent(Modern Catholic Dictionary). Reputation, surely is not something of light matters, it is not the mere threat of the spreading of a rumor or such: but a protection on dignity; surely: in either case: I cannot explain what is meant here authoritatively: but something more vital: rape always refers to manipulation via force, or endangerment to something one values: whether life, or reputation, and endangerment into such. Rape, is not the choice of the person who is the victim, and their participation, is under extreme duress, for such is the nature of rape. Even when the victim is guilty of lust, the rapist is always guilty of rape; whether by treachery, or by force, or by manipulation, or some other means of forcing a woman to act against the will in this.
In any matter, where one is unsure: of their guilt: remember; the confessional is open: find a trustworthy, godly priest, who seems good: and anonymously confess sins when needed (Catholics, otherwise, join the church via the normal way, and confess when your first confession arrives, or be baptized if you have not been baptized in the name of the Trinity: through the church structures, unless the life is threatened: and do so always in the three Names: Father, Son and Holy Spirit). I confess regularly, at least, I have in the past: whenever one is worried, a regular period of confession: also gives more hope of salvation, if one dies before one is able to attend, as one would have attended.
Likewise: those who have certain dreams; do not sins by these, as they are asleep: yet, if they choose to bring these dreams on by fantasies being endorsed, it seems they sin. Also, dreams can be a sign of things which are wrong in the life. All sins can be forgiven: if one seeks this forgiveness in the right manner: from the One Holy Church, and from God: with repentance.
Also, when one has just awoken, or is in such state, guilt may be decreased, if they then sin, even completely: as the sleeping mind is not accountable to reason: and one cannot control such adequately: and one must willingly choose to sin, to take an unreasonable cause of action, which is an offensive action to God, to sin, and must know that they are not doing right: to be fully accountable.
As to doubt of how accountable: in most matters, regular confession can help erase fear on this.
"I may have sinned this often, but I am unsure": it is simple and easy, and can help one understand when they have sinned. Job, he offered sacrifices, even when he was unsure of sin. Once a week, or month, can be adequate, and for those who sin less: once a year: but when in mortal sin: this is inadvisable, and the quicker period is advisable. Also: using the 7 deadly sins as a format on which to accuse one's self; can simplify and quicken confession. Remember, it is sinful to accuse one's self of sins you have not done: that is why I advise: could be: but unsure: when you are not sure! Of course, sins like murder, or abortion, or such: should be confessed directly, as these can well: require a special absolution, due to the nature of the offense, and more (certainly currently, in the legal framework of today: in the case of abortion): to canon law. With a sin like abortion, or willful heresy: it is important to mention it as what it is: so as to make sure the priest has the authority given, and so that he can give a special absolution for these, as there can well be a need to do so.

Caritas Internationalis lauds the 3 hour breaks in bombings, by Israel; however, they want Israel to stop using a "disproportionate" amount of force, but rather, from their statement: it seems: for Israel: to protect their borders proportionately, and they desire rocket-fire from Hamas (actually an acronym in Arabic of "Islamic Resistance Movement") to stop. They have called the UN Human Rights Council: in Geneva; to investigate both sides under International Humanitarian Law.
They also desire a permanent ceasefire on both sides.

Despite prayers, from around the would, Fr. Richard John Neuhaus, has died of cancer. I received this in my Subscription to Trinity Communications: today. First Things, was an inter-religious organization: which truly tried to contribute towards inter-religious harmony. His efforts will be missed.

Caritas Internationalis; among others call for investigation, and permanent ceasefire

Caritas Internationalis, an Umbrella organization of Catholic relief organizations: has called for an investigation of actions of both sides in the conflict in the Gaza Strip: asking that all violations of International Law on both sides: be investigated: and that Israel stop using a "disproportionate" amount of force to protect themselves, and Hamas stop rocket fire into the Gaza Strip. It has called both sides to respect International Law.
In Catholic doctrine, there is a proportionate amount of force, which one can use to protect themselves. As the Sri lankan army advances against the Tamil Tiger (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE)) separatists, in Sri Lanka: the Catholic Bishop in the area: has called on the Sri Lankan army to avoid civilian casualties. Several have already been casualty to aerial bombing, which the bishop has called the Army to hault when dealing with highly populated areas; or more directly: he has said to save civilians from mortar, and aerial bombardment: possibly allowing for strategic strikes: although he does not mention these.
The Bishop of Jaffna, has said that he believes the army has hit civilian targets with aerial bombings, and is calling for them to save civilians from Mortar, and aerial bombardment.
The Sri Lankan army will now need to pursue the rebels in a highly populated area, if they desire immediate victory. Much like the situation in the Gaza Strip, this one demands caution on the part of a largely: morally/doctrinally speaking, somewhat: justified army: so as not to take unjustified actions, or do possibly immoral damage to innocent bystanders.

The Philippine army plans in 2009: to take a small mining region from rebel hands. The region funds Maoist (Communist)rebel recruitment across the country. Rebels have raided local industry, for goods, and have attacked infrastructure, including a mobile phone center: in order to get funding for their civil war initiatives. The army blames an Islamic Insurgency last year: in the south, high fuel prices, and a humanitarian crisis, for failing to destroy 40 rebel bases they had promised to destroy last year. They plan to destroy all Maoist bases by 2010.
The Philippines is planing to attract hundreds of millions in mining investment this year, making this operation of a perceived special interest to their government.
A recent law past: allowing 100 percent ownership of mines. Those apposing some mining investments: include Catholic representation. The Philippines is demographically: considered largely Catholic.

The LRA has recently been pushed back from positions in the Congo. Caritas Internationalis: a humanitarian grouping: claims that about 400 people were killed in LRA raids over the Christmas period, including many in a Catholic Church.
Accusations of dismemberment, the bashing of a baby against a tree, and throwing a man in a fire, are just some of these surfacing from South Sudanese authorities. Ugandan, Congolese (DRC), and southern Sudanese troops were involved in recent offensives against the LRA. After a brief silent period in December, ending with offenses against the Ugandan Rebels: who have displaced about 2 million Ugandan civilians, and whose leaders are wanted in the Hague (International Criminal Court) for war crimes: The LRA, has since been accused of a spate of brutal, even primitive massacres of civilians.
Many of their outposts in the DRC, have been irradiated in bombings, but their leadership(including:their elusive commander: Joseph Kony), which is wanted for trial in the International Criminal Court(ICC): have yet to be caught.

In a small proof: that one must be very careful in choice of words: statements; comparing the Gaza Strip, to a "Concentration Camp": because of the fact civilians are unable to move out: due to conflict, and politics: have caused massive insult.
Cardinal Renato Martino: of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace; has caused Jewish people to say: the comparison: is not fitting; that a concentration camp is worse. The Cardinal later stated; that he also condemned Hamas; and related his statement to the walls: but those who had been in a concentration camp: were not impressed. Pope Benedict; in his state of the world address: again emphasized a need to condemn violence. The Majority of those in the Catholic church are neutral on the matter, with a few officials, and organizations breaking ranks. Israel called the statements by the Cardinal Renato Martino: president of the Ponitical Council for Justice and Peace: Hamas propaganda.
Iran has been accused of possibly funding the wars of Hamas and Hezbolla, by the BBC, in an article on rocket attacks from Lebanon into Israel. France and Egypt, have both been working at a peace deal: in which they had a near miss previously: with Israel accepting conditionally a peace deal, which they did not adhere to, when Hamas (initials for "Islamic Resistance Movement" in the Arabic dialect): rejected these: wanting open borders.
This latest battleground situation: started with seemingly unprovoked rocket-fire by Hamas militants, into Israel: after a 6-month truce. A number of people, including an infant, and a number of buildings, including one for child-care: on the Israeli side: have been hit. Hamas, has in turn: since been hit in outposts throughout the densely populated: Gaza strip: wherein certain sources believe there is a massive humanitarian situation: caused partly by Collateral Damage: on Israel's part, which they claim is because militants purposely fire from civilian areas.
UN (United Nations) officials on the ground: deny accusations by Israel, and by a Canadian newspaper: that there were militants in the area around a UN school. The UN, recently suspended aid in to the Gaza Strip: since an incident where Israeli troops were accused by the UN of shooting at some of their aid workers. We are unsure, what allegedly provoked the alleged attack.
Meanwhile: amongst calls by the ANC's "King maker" allies: COSATU; and by protesters who marched on Parliament yesterday: to call for sanctions against Israel: a Jewish association: has lamented the anti-Jewish sentiment, they believe they are experiencing: in South Africa: and have reminded the seemingly pro-Hamas: ANC controlled: South African government: who it is who started the attack in the first place. Racism, Bigotry, and hate speech, are not uncommon in South Africa; despite constitutional clauses against these. It is more than just possible: that those with a hatred for Jewish culture, beliefs, and people: have been misusing this situation: for their own unconstitutional means.
Often, support for one side of the other, springs from hatred of a culture, or religion, often based on, what many would consider: misleadingly superstitious religious beliefs. I personally, have even seen some who hope there will never be peace in the Middle East: believing that it will warrant the end of the world. These same people often believe the Catholic church to be evil... and many other things: but it is simply more proof, of how biased many viewing the conflict are.
The point is, that because of the location of this battle, and the players in it: and propaganda due to it: there is a harsh situation, whereby those who harbor hatred of one or other group: chose to air it, and those attempting to stop it: need to be careful of how they phrase the situation.
The alleged connection with Iran, is actually quite credible, according to the BBC: who say that Iran makes very little effort in denying accusations from Israel: especially , as credible as the connection between DRC rebels, and the Rwandan authorities: also noted by BBC. Who noted Rwandan troops operating in the conflict area, and these troops: have also been noted as apparently shooting down a UN helicopter in the African nation. Iran itself, desire the destruction of Israel. According to the BBC: they do not want a deal: which prevents smuggling of Iranian weaponry into Palestine.
A possible reason for the way in which Hamas is responding to this situation: could well be tied with the Iranian government. Iran, has no benefit from peace in th Gaza Strip.
Israeli-Vatican tensions have been heightened since the Cardinal Renato Martino: of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, used what can only be a metaphor to concentration camps.

Gaza Strip, palestine: Update: UN withdraws from Gaza Strip aid: Obama still silent, but speaks on US economy: a look at Iran

The BBC (Secular; British; Government): is reporting that the United Nations (UN), is halting aid into the Gaza Strip, due to an incident, of Israeli troops: allegedly shooting at UN workers.
Condemnations have began to triple in from throughout the world: for Israel; including from Caritas Wales. As they find themselves: in an increasingly difficult political situation, and losing the propaganda war even more badly than before: and in more countries. Israel: also now faces the threat of Hezbolla. Those, who have always desired a genocide against the Jewish people, are looking more and more to have a natural publicity advantage. Somehow: in this region, for the longest time: world media: has always viewed Israel and their surroundings; as though with a different standard.
With this move by the UN in the area, the humanitarian situation can only get worse: but the region, has become a tinderbox: for conflict. The world continues to, and will: it seems: continue to tolerate hate speech, and calls for genocide against a valid people, who have seen this realized, and could in the near future, see this happen again.
Meanwhile: Barak Obama, who has insisted: that he does not want to divide authority in America: between two "Presidents": through advisors: has spoken on the economic crisis in America: hinting that he has politically chosen to ignore the dire humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip; and like the Euthanasia incident: he seems to bear politics, extremely well: but not focus on those on the ground, nor can one absolve him from his vote on allowing infanticide for failed abortions. He bears politics well, but this does not seem good for human rights. In fact, his promises to extend the textbook American Genocide of article 2 section d definition: abortion: and his other historically extreme stances against human rights issues are worrying. His desire to further fund Abortion firm Planned Parenthood, and his choices of appointments: are scary. He seems more focused on Abortion, and promoting such: than on economics: this is only proven in background checks done on his candidates.
At least 40 targets: according to E News (South African; Secular) have been hit in air-strikes today. Protesters, in South Africa marched on Parliament today: calling for a blockade of Israeli goods. Again: largely missing: is notation: that Hamas: is not only the original protagonist , but just as guilty, and insanely callas, as Israel is on this issue.
While a French-Egyptian peace deal continues to be brokered for the area. Any real future peace: needs justice: those on both sides committing, or ordering human rights abuses need to be brought to book. Biased perspectives: offered by many of this situation: need to be ridden away from the scene.

We would like to emphasize: that many media sources on this: are relying on external facts. The BBC; is probably still the best source on this issue. They are also the fastest, in our perspective: at present at getting accurate, or semi-accurate news out of the region.
An article of theirs: also links funding of Hezbolla, and Hamas: to Iran: who they say: do not make any real effort at denying this. They said this: when analyzing the recent possibly "Hezbolla" missile strikes on Israel, in an article.
We still believe there is more to this situation than meets the eye. The strategy of Hamas: is either suicide: or insanity, or else: the moving of a larger body, in a bigger war-plan. The seeming co-ordination apparent: in Lebanon, and Palestine, and the cautiousness of Iran at this stage: seems odd.
We (Social Justice South Africa) still maintain; that both sides need to be pushed towards peace: and any condemnation: must be aimed at both sides, and that a proper investigation, and accountable punishment: of human rights abusers on both sides: must occur: to move forward. Also: the possibility of Iranian funding of this needs to be looked into: if Israel must be condemned, and perhaps others: then accusations of Iranian arms and funding being used: need to be looked into: and Iran should not be allowed to get away with anything like this: if accurate.

Condemnations have began to triple in from throughout the world: for Israel; including from Caritas Wales. As they find themselves: in an increasingly difficult political situation, and losing the propaganda war even more badly than before: and in more countries. Israel: also now faces the threat of Hezbolla. Those, who have always desired a genocide against the Jewish people, are looking more and more to have a natural publicity advantage. Somehow: in this region, for the longest time: world media: has always viewed Israel and their surroundings; as though with a different standard.
With this move by the UN in the area, the humanitarian situation can only get worse: but the region, has become a tinderbox: for conflict. The world continues to, and will: it seems: continue to tolerate hate speech, and calls for genocide against a valid people, who have seen this realized, and could in the near future, see this happen again.
Meanwhile: Barak Obama, who has insisted: that he does not want to divide authority in America: between two "Presidents": through advisors: has spoken on the economic crisis in America: hinting that he has politically chosen to ignore the dire humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip; and like the Euthanasia incident: he seems to bear politics, extremely well: but not focus on those on the ground, nor can one absolve him from his vote on allowing infanticide for failed abortions. He bears politics well, but this does not seem good for human rights. In fact, his promises to extend the textbook American Genocide of article 2 section d definition: abortion: and his other historically extreme stances against human rights issues are worrying. His desire to further fund Abortion firm Planned Parenthood, and his choices of appointments: are scary. He seems more focused on Abortion, and promoting such: than on economics: this is only proven in background checks done on his candidates.
At least 40 targets: according to E News (South African; Secular) have been hit in air-strikes today. Protesters, in South Africa marched on Parliament today: calling for a blockade of Israeli goods. Again: largely missing: is notation: that Hamas: is not only the original protagonist , but just as guilty, and insanely callas, as Israel is on this issue.
While a French-Egyptian peace deal continues to be brokered for the area. Any real future peace: needs justice: those on both sides committing, or ordering human rights abuses need to be brought to book. Biased perspectives: offered by many of this situation: need to be ridden away from the scene.

We would like to emphasize: that many media sources on this: are relying on external facts. The BBC; is probably still the best source on this issue. They are also the fastest, in our perspective: at present at getting accurate, or semi-accurate news out of the region.
An article of theirs: also links funding of Hezbolla, and Hamas: to Iran: who they say: do not make any real effort at denying this. They said this: when analyzing the recent possibly "Hezbolla" missile strikes on Israel, in an article.
We still believe there is more to this situation than meets the eye. The strategy of Hamas: is either suicide: or insanity, or else: the moving of a larger body, in a bigger war-plan. The seeming co-ordination apparent: in Lebanon, and Palestine, and the cautiousness of Iran at this stage: seems odd.
We (Social Justice South Africa) still maintain; that both sides need to be pushed towards peace: and any condemnation: must be aimed at both sides, and that a proper investigation, and accountable punishment: of human rights abusers on both sides: must occur: to move forward. Also: the possibility of Iranian funding of this needs to be looked into: if Israel must be condemned, and perhaps others: then accusations of Iranian arms and funding being used: need to be looked into: and Iran should not be allowed to get away with anything like this: if accurate.

With 42 cases, and 13 deaths: this situation has not become less serious. The Irish government is expected to expand a probe into sexual abuse by clergy, and the alleged mishanding of this: by certain clergy in Ireland: icluding one bishop: Bishop John Magee of the Diocese of Cloyne, who has been slated in the press: as not obeying church, or state suggestions: and whose actions have been questioned by two prelates:
Cardinal Sean Brady of the Archdiocese of Armagh, and Archbishop Diarmuid Martin of the Archdiocese of Dublin.
The Latter prelate: has said that it is up to Bishop: John Magee; whether or not to resign, but a news survey found many thought he had lost the moral high ground needed for the job.
Government plans to further the investigation, have met a mixed reaction. Those supporting the embattled Bishop of Cloyne: have accused an investigating body: commissioned by the church to look into the issue: of falsely slandering the bishop.
The Catholic church in Ireland, apparently: is making great leaps towards accountability, having recently: published documents on sexual abuse cases.
Cases in the Catholic church, are some of the lowest in the world, the reason why these have warranted so much public attention, is that these were often mishandled on a local level. Those objecting, were quieted.
Since Pope Benedict XVI has entered office: his public apology: has been mirrored throughout the world: including by a recent penance walk: by an Irish Priest, who wanted to walk for the reparation of his fellows: for their sin against God and church. Real progress: is now being made: towards quenching this, and other scandals: which have rocked the western world.
Benedict XVI: has always been famed for a diplomatic ability: recently epitomized in Liturgical changes: including the exclusion of the word ____ (The name of God: given to Abraham: and kept via verbal tradition) from public worship, for the Jews, and a return to a more direct translation of the Mass: to acomodate the SSPX: a group whose leaders, and founder are excommunicated.
Benedict XVI: is praised both for diplomacy, as well as for his symbolic, and practical combating of the sexual abuse scandal. The Irish Bishops, do not appear to be standing by the Bishop: John Magee, who has raised public anger.
They also: have not attempted a forced resignation: rather: they are leaving the situation in the hands of the Police, and of the Bishop, and Vatican.
The government recently asked: that all priests sign that they will obey child protection regulations. The Church itself agrees with this: and investigations, and findings: are by those commissioned by them.
A seeming move to transparency and openness: in Ireland: is a great improvement on this issue. In many parts of the world: priests, and bishops have joined a renewal: of teaching sound Catholic doctrine and ethics.

Canada: Capt. Robert Semrau, released
Capt. Robert Semrau (35), charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of an severely injured Taliban fighter in Afghanistan has been released into custody with seven conditions. He cannot possess weapons, ammunition or explosives, remain under military authority, stay in Canada, hand over his Canadian and military passports, continue to live where he resides, notify military of any address or phone changes within 48 hrs, and abstain from speaking with any witnesses. It was noted that he did not pose a threat to the public and would not flee and has an exemplary record with the Canadian Forces and the British army prior.
While questions immediately arose about the two-month-long delay between the date of the man’s death and the date the senior commanders learned of the allegations it seems fair to say that once informed they acted swiftly. Apparently this is not a long time for allegations to make their way up the chain of command.
Everyone has acted very quickly on this charge for fear of another hard lesson to be learnt as with the strain of Somalia. The customs of the Cdn Forces have changed and being open, transparent, very professional and dedicated to their jobs. They want to be known to do the right thing.
A Canadian soldier must be held to a very high standard, whether through Rules of Engagement, which require troops, use force lawfully or the Code of Conduct. An army is only as good and disciplined as its troops and officers and their collective willingness to play by the rules. They are controlled by a lawful government and nobody wants soldiers taking initiative as to how they apply force. This is what makes the violence they apply morally acceptable…sometimes.
The Canadian Forces biggest fear regarding these charges was it being another incident and accusations like in Somalia. A repeat of what happened in Somalia in 1993 in not in the best interests of the Cdn military, nobody want an ensuing cover-up that shook Canadians’ faith in the military ever again. On March 16, 1993, Shidan Arone, was tortured and beaten to death by two members of the now-disbanded Canadian Airborne Regiment, this remains the single greatest strain in the history of the Canadian Forces. It was two rank and file soldiers who were criminally charged. It appears that the young man’s death was really the result of an out-of-control culture by lax and unaccountable senior leaders who later tried to cover up the magnitude of what had happened after information was leaking out, a total disgrace to our military. Out of this horror the NIS was created an independent military police unit.
This is not the case with the charges against Captain Robert Semrau, who authorities were notified within 4 days after incident. A hearing will be set before a military judge to determine whether the evidence is sufficient to proceed to trial, innocent until proven guilty.
