Catholic spirituality is increasingly being latched onto by the music industry, and not simply in the sacrilegious sense, although Universal Records was very likely part of that sense, being the label of Lady Gagga, and Amy Winehouse. With the success of the Priests, and other albums, Universal went looking for nuns. The Benedictines won't be touring the world, they are secluded, and will remain that way until death, in their one little monastery, which proceeds from the album would help. The record label had to give the cameras and equipment to the nuns for the exercise. They also simply saw it as more daily prayer, and as helping people to pray or find God. These nuns certainly won't be gaining riches even if their monastery is kept open for years to come due to the exercise.

Given that Catholic monks created the concept of written music, this is a beautiful turn-around trend. That said, I won't personally be buying their album, I'm still just a little suspicious of Universal Music, after all they are the one's who produced the alleged "papal" cd 05 / 08 | August / 2009, by buying recordings of the pope and mixing it up a bit. Even if this record is by Decca Records, not Geffen, both owned by the same company.

Abbaye de Notre-Dame de l'Annonciation outside Avignon, certainly could remind one of the Sound of Music, much more than the nuns who have opened a massage parlour in Great Britain.

Have you ever found yourself in a position, where you pretend to be something, your not? Where you lie to the one you love because you just don’t think you are good enough for them? What about the times you do something that is morally wrong, yet you do it for all the wrong reasons, just to get their attention?

Sometimes you find yourself in a position you’ve never been before. You need advice. Your friend seems to just know a bit about the situation you in, or might of the opposite sex, someone that might have some sort of insight as to what to do when it comes to them. But what if, you end up doing what they tell you to do in that situation? What if you do it and in the end you feel so guilty that you want to crawl in a hole and disappear never to be seen by that person again. Don’t get me wrong, getting your friends advice is absolutely fine, but following it to the letter…perhaps not such a great idea.

If you think about it, lets say you really like someone. You don’t know what to send in the message to them, you think your friend who does have a stable relationship might know what you should do. So you send the message they advise, and you realize that you just made a fool of yourself. It might even work and you end up living a lie with the individual thinking that you had the courage to say such a thing. But what if it has the opposite effect? What if that silly little message that was meant to help the situation made things so much worse that you doubt you would be able to fix the situation and that, that half a chance you had just got ruined? What if you seem so desperate that they just want to get rid of you that they scold you? In all the above situations you can say that you just did not follow your intuition, that you just rushed things and didn’t let fate sort it out. Sometimes after that situation and your feelings so strong, you can do nothing else but wish upon a star and anything else that just might change things.

What about the times you lie to the one you love cause you think they wont accept you for you? You know deep down they will find out but you do it anyway, just so they can look at you, then you really loose your chance, then the possibility of actually sorting things out is very unlikely.

What about the times you do something your friend does, like make out with someone you shouldn’t just to make your ex jealous? You end up getting a bad name. As for that friend, its best to stay away from them your reputation goes down the drain with theirs. You end up being pulled into because they making out with someone they don’t even know.

Basically, love and life is like your very own book. You write what has already happened, the rest of it you finish off yourself. If your friends try help and solve it, the story…just wont end up how you want it to. Take your friends advice just make sure it doesn’t contradict your own ideas, cause it might complicate things. No matter what be yourself, and if your ideas don’t work, you might find someone that they will work on. Every chance you get at love is a learning experience so as to not make the same mistake again, provided you open yourself to love and be loved.

Chastity and lust: a guide on lust for the scrupulous

What is lust: is loving beauty, breathing it in, holding the breath, and loving it? Surely, no: this is not the pursuit of sexual pleasure outside of the correct context and disposition. it is not the pursuit of sexual pleasure, but of beauty. Is love of the human form such: but this is not the case: Michael Angelo's art: Catholic art proves this. To draw in strength from a woman one loves: this is not lust, and to mildly admire the human form, is also not lust.

To sculpt the human form, is not lust either: but to cause another to sin by one's sculpting, is sin.

Should one marry, intending to use contraception, one very likely does not marry. To have sex with one's wife: using such methods: this is lust: yet not so with merely admiring beauty: least one admires it, as to endorse desires to take it as a substance for one's sexual pleasure, or sexually achieved purposes: apart from the context in which this is lawful within Catholic morality.

The use of the sexually purposed organs, so classified from their design, or the stimulation of sexual pleasure in such manner; apart from the correct context, is mortal sin: including certain actings taken upon by men: who chose to simulate something apart from the marital act. This is to do so with a false, non-existent woman: and while born of loneliness: is in fact selfish, and an insult against the wife, or future wife, or possible wife. To spill a certain substance, from one's self, into, or onto something other than the place for it: is sinful. In fact, to purposely do so: is an act of intrinsic evil": in catholic morality.

Pornography: this is lust, as it involves fantasies and thoughts, or the endorsement of some desires which are unlawful: or exposes the sexual act, apart from its proper place: which is supposed to be the context of in privacy, within marriage, with unitive, and pro-creative properties, or else, pornography causes a view of women, sexuality, men, or the act itself; which is banal: and not the fullness of such. It is mortal sin to use or view this: even if not out of lust: as it is promoting a culture of lust, and supporting the degradation of human dignity. If not lust, it is part of the mortal matter of the sin of wrath... such against those within it, and against many additionally: it is evil.

To view another as purely a means of sexual pleasure; also is lust.

When we call prostitutes immoral, it is either because they do something unsafe, that we flee them, or that they trade sexuality for advancement, or maintenance. Trading sex for love, or for a home, or for any sort of pleasure. Prostitutes, and others: do a trade. This is why marital love must be lifelong and unconditional, not some trade: based on advancement or pleasure: otherwise, what we see as wrong as prostitution, manifests in another ways in us. Love in this form may be pleasurable, and one can love pleasure, but not so as to view the partner as simply a means to such, and not a person and, if in proportion, where maintaining, and promoting, expressing unity, and openness to childbirth, are not kept from this exchange: but to trade sexual pleasure: is a wrong reason to do so. We know it: it is why prostitution is despised...

Love in such form, as to be moral must be "selfless": and open to childbirth: this is what evolution made love for, and what God caused marriage for: selfless love, union: everlasting love: an emblem of the relations of Love Himself: of the relationship between Father and Son, which eternally spawns the Holy Spirit, begotten, but never made: having never not existed.

Their relations are not sexual, rather: it is selfless love, it is care for one another: between two persons, which are love: which spawns the third; eternally: which also is love: all as one God, three persons.

Further, love: for a child, is not only natural, it is moral: so far, as the love itself is selfless: and it can only be, if the ideals, and concerns of the two: are concerns of one body: if both are selfless: as can only occur in in this act, when in marriage: and this is the dual: reciprocal selflessness: into which children must be born: loved: cared for. That said, a lack of this is not a reason to murder the child: just as a lack of our desires is no reason to kill ourselves: a person is a person, no matter how small, and also: even when they are vulnerable to death: which makes our body a corpse, to be respected, but oft considered: a "person" no more. Love, Christian love: can only refer to selflessness. It is unconditional: and this is the place for married love.

To reduce a living, breathing, moving human form to the body, and what pleasure it can give, this is evil: it is illogical, and it is wrong, and to view a person as an object of therapeutic, or pleasure endorsing material, and in this exclude them as a person: this also is a form of lust. Yes, one may purely admire their physical beauty, yet to imagine them or long for them to do certain things outside of marriage, to to long to use their form for this: or against their will, this is mortal sin. To imagine them naked: is it not wrath: is it not violating their God given right to privacy, and protection from uncaring eyes?

So, lust, is the pursuit of sexual pleasure, apart from the selfless, eternal unity of Marriage. It is also, when this pleasure of sexual organs is pursued by those who close themselves off from childbirth. Pursuing sexual pleasure apart from the possibility of such, in a relationship, and apart from unity: this is evil: if not seemingly always the matter of mortal sin.

Should one long for marriage in the mind, one must remember not to long for sexual pleasure: but for a relationship, in which sexual pleasure is just a small part, and in which this pleasure is nothing but a reward from God: for pursuing to manifest him properly, and for pursuing unity, and family, with this act: but not sexual pleasure for sexual pleasure's sake: and that those who do so outside of such, misrepresent God as not selfless, and not life, nor open to life: they say that God does not love God: for God himself; we know eternally maintains God: via his eternal love.

One should realize that God judges both what is, and what would be. This is how those lucky: saved in Baptism of Desire (I am speaking of Lumen Gentium XVI: Vatican II's Salvation outside the visible boundary of the Sacramental Holy Roman Catholic Church): are saved: in that given the opportunity, they would seek God properly. This is also why some others are not considered saved: and why the Gospel is so important. This is also how one, repentant of their sin, on the way to confession, dying in the car: should likely also see heaven: for they would confess. This is also perhaps why: he who fantasized about certain things with a woman not his own: outside of the context of selfless married love: this man: God judges: would do as he desires should the obstacles be removed. This is also why lust is the matter of mortal Sin: it is as mortal a sin as adultery; though easier to commit: and excludes perhaps the wrath of adultery, and other sins contained in that treasury; making it possibly less grave, but still the matter of mortal sin.

Now, should a couple not be utterly selfless, this does not make their relations evil: marriage is the only way to know for sure, and if both parties understand it, have no impediment to it, and plan to lifelong enter the child rearing, unifying relation of marriage, understanding its indissolvable, eternal, and contextual nature, and able to fulfill it: the bond is created.

Still, the act itself must be pure, the spilling of seed outside its place, such as when it is not placed in a certain area of the body, of a legitimate partner, or degrading practices, or cruelty, and hatred manifest in it: should be kept away: and the act itself must be freely done: and must be open to life. Also: one should focus on both in such a thing: unity, and openness to family, and a bond for as long as both do live, and on God, also: who is Love: the nature we mimic in such. It is evil even here to pursue pleasure itself, without unity, without caring for the other, and respecting their freedom, and dignity in such.

So, lust is both the "plan", the conscious desire, the willingness: manifest in certain thoughts and endorsement of certain desires: to commit acts of lust; but also: is everything higher on such scale in this. To endorse desires for the sin of lust, is the sin of lust, this is the nature of this sin.

Kissing, outside of marriage for the sake of sensual pleasure: this is sinful: even as kissing as a sign of love, friendship, or fidelity is not: but if one kisses for physical sexual pleasure, and the other for love: is not the other allowing his fellow to sin. One must be careful with kissing: that it not be lustful, as with touching: these when outside of marriage: cannot be for pleasure, even when as signs of affection; even when pleasure is gained from such.

Actions involving certain organs: however: can only be done when the requirements for unity, and for openness to childbirth: and in marriage, and these actions can only be the actions for which God designed these organs: and not unnatural simulation of certain conditions the body is programmed to respond to. There: is not exception to some acts being sinful. Masturbation, is always evil, intrinsically evil.

The person who is raped, against their will: however, does not seem to sin, least their sin is some other action: of their own: such as willfully entering into relations with the attacker, beyond what saves the life, and "reputation" (Modern Catholic Dictionary).

Yet, many a person is sainted for dying while fighting the aggressor off: such a fight to survive is not evil, nor the fight for one's dignity, in which the life is lost in pursuit of chastity: but direct suicide to avoid rape: is sinful: in fact, in ancient Israel: the Woman had to shout for help when raped, by their law.

One; like when facing a dangerous animal, or other such things: should do what they can to protect dignity (chastity) and life. One cannot be held accountable for evil done to them: only for evil which they are responsible for. What one does out of reasonable fear for their life, often is not what they would otherwise do. Saint Philomena, was sainted: for refusing to marry the Roman emperor, and dying a horrid death, as with another: yet being a victim of violence is not one's fault. But, I am not an expert on morality in this section. The resistance required: that one be guilty of nothing when raped: is to resist internally with the will, and also: to with one's physical and moral ability as long as the life and "reputation" is not endangered to a certain, horrid extent(Modern Catholic Dictionary). Reputation, surely is not something of light matters, it is not the mere threat of the spreading of a rumor or such: but a protection on dignity; surely: in either case: I cannot explain what is meant here authoritatively: but something more vital: rape always refers to manipulation via force, or endangerment to something one values: whether life, or reputation, and endangerment into such. Rape, is not the choice of the person who is the victim, and their participation, is under extreme duress, for such is the nature of rape. Even when the victim is guilty of lust, the rapist is always guilty of rape; whether by treachery, or by force, or by manipulation, or some other means of forcing a woman to act against the will in this.

In any matter, where one is unsure: of their guilt: remember; the confessional is open: find a trustworthy, godly priest, who seems good: and anonymously confess sins when needed (Catholics, otherwise, join the church via the normal way, and confess when your first confession arrives, or be baptized if you have not been baptized in the name of the Trinity: through the church structures, unless the life is threatened: and do so always in the three Names: Father, Son and Holy Spirit). I confess regularly, at least, I have in the past: whenever one is worried, a regular period of confession: also gives more hope of salvation, if one dies before one is able to attend, as one would have attended.

Likewise: those who have certain dreams; do not sins by these, as they are asleep: yet, if they choose to bring these dreams on by fantasies being endorsed, it seems they sin. Also, dreams can be a sign of things which are wrong in the life. All sins can be forgiven: if one seeks this forgiveness in the right manner: from the One Holy Church, and from God: with repentance.

Also, when one has just awoken, or is in such state, guilt may be decreased, if they then sin, even completely: as the sleeping mind is not accountable to reason: and one cannot control such adequately: and one must willingly choose to sin, to take an unreasonable cause of action, which is an offensive action to God, to sin, and must know that they are not doing right: to be fully accountable.

As to doubt of how accountable: in most matters, regular confession can help erase fear on this.


"I may have sinned this often, but I am unsure": it is simple and easy, and can help one understand when they have sinned. Job, he offered sacrifices, even when he was unsure of sin. Once a week, or month, can be adequate, and for those who sin less: once a year: but when in mortal sin: this is inadvisable, and the quicker period is advisable. Also: using the 7 deadly sins as a format on which to accuse one's self; can simplify and quicken confession. Remember, it is sinful to accuse one's self of sins you have not done: that is why I advise: could be: but unsure: when you are not sure! Of course, sins like murder, or abortion, or such: should be confessed directly, as these can well: require a special absolution, due to the nature of the offense, and more (certainly currently, in the legal framework of today: in the case of abortion): to canon law. With a sin like abortion, or willful heresy: it is important to mention it as what it is: so as to make sure the priest has the authority given, and so that he can give a special absolution for these, as there can well be a need to do so.

With the manner in which the human mind is structured, and the dangers of anything sexually but for valid, loving marriage: and statistics of disease, abortion, crime, violence, economic problems and so forth, we at Chastity South Africa: would like to encourage our readers with this: Chastity is sanity: it saves the body, it saves the self, and what we call the soul. Chastity South Africa- The small freedom I guarentee you, that which we die for, and give our life to

I am walking in the thick snow, by the edge of movement. I look up, seeing a small red bird, and am wondering at the soul of it. Perhaps I tossed and turned, I do not know, all I remember is what I describe, and perhaps more- but not the context. The bird made small noises and I truly wondered- are you aeviternal? I did not know what aeviternal meant, but still I wondered- at the concept I did not comprehend as yet... nor did I use the blessed word aeviternal for it, something more like fully alive!

I looked to the side, the snow was moving, there was an avalanche of sorts, I guess. I walked towards it, I was on the top of the mountain now, and I took something sparkling, something shining, like a fire perhaps from the cold snow. It was golden in form, though not too cold or dead, I think, it was a secret.

I would have awoken and written a poem in my diary about the experience, or perhaps I was awake, and the idea simply entered my mind, a scary idea- of being there on that mountain- simply surrounded in chaos, in death, and diving deep into it to save something important, and leaving once I had.

The golden piece was a woman's soul, that was the meaning, and I was sent there- to the danger to save her, or so I had thought when contemplating the odd poetic thought.

We have a task in our world, and when we achieve it, or fail- we are to turn into dust and fly upon the wind until we come to face the truth,with pain or joy, or any sort of reacting.

We save our fellows physically, but also with more than this. True freedom is freedom to be our deepest being, to become what we truly are. What we truly are is never evil- that is what we think we are, and what we think we are desires to imprison who we are. We think to quickly that we hate, or desire evil on others, or to do wrong. Our evil shadow does, and we sin by treating this as ours- and that is why we confess our sins, but every sin is self delusion, every sin is a lie, and malicious lies even the smallest destroy all things.

So, Jesus came into our world to undo the Devil's work, not God's law, not morality, not the power of the conscience of the soul- no- he came not to change the requirements of salvation- but to save us from his enemy- to slavery to thoughts, and desires- we only think falsely as our own.

When I truly gained self control- it was by seeing sin as foreign to my self.

I also need the sacrament, and to realize the choice is mine- and the power so strongly desiring evil- it is not the devil- but me allowing my desires to misfire, and believing something is my desire when it is not. This is where faith saves us- where realization of true, whole reality- and this is what faith is- saves.

We are to calm our souls- and undress our pride to around our knees. We are to lower our souls, and step back from our body, and feel calmness within- we are to notice our emotions, but detach from them, and hear them as voices- as guides, advisors, and competitors, and with each, call it aside like a pet sparrow. We must hold it on our hand and speak to it, and ask who it is, and who its parents are- until we realize our true desire. When one realizes the true desire, beyond the good or evil form- one can choose how to manifest it, and we may only sanely choose what is good- least we fool ourselves. We must focus on the source of our desire. It is something in reality- something we want or do not want, some warning, or some chilling fearful realization. Emotions are like intuition, they tell us about ourselves, and how we read what is.

Jesus came to cause us life forever- and life to the fullness- not in events- but in who we stand to be and become- not in appearances, but in our depths, and aching organs. By prayer, belief, trust, obedience, and by philosophy (the literal meaning of this), the love of truth- we shall find right.

Philosophy is the seeking of the source of things, so that we can admit their source. Theology and philosophy are not one, but in the virtue of self control- seeing what our source emotion is, our real situation- that below the misfiring- we can concentrate on it, and strengthen it- breaking the icy stranglehold of the chains of slavery to sin- simply by inflating the righteous desire we truly feel- which evil has stolen, hijacked and twisted.

Like a beast loosed on the town, with something tied to it to cause it panic- evil loves to look at our weaknesses, the desires we keep under- the righteous ones below the evil the manifest- and to set these into a slight spinning of tissue- so that we fall vastly out of control- like a wild black horse rampaging through a small desert town.

Such a beast desires comfort, but to it- it thinks it desires to throw off the thing holding it, or else- that it hates those it sees, as it causes damage, like in madness.

Truly, to conquer the sin beneath, at the source- and to throw the soul into balance, by admitting our true desires, and believing them- we in fact calmly stop rampaging, and can logically remove what captivates us. Like the horse we need help, not from people who would use us to slave for their tasks, but from one who values our freedom, but more than that our sanity, without which freedom is worthless, and without morals, we are not in perfect sanity.

Our source of freedom, is like a fence the horse goes to in the end, where a young boy quietly frees his and sends him off. Our freedom is in seeking the true, deepest source of our desires, and then also in the salvation wrought by the sacrament, and by the church which helps solidify our efforts, and truly puts our soul (our current aeviternal form, which is like the battery, and animator of our every essence of being, flesh, blood, and living part) right, even as we are more than encouraged to fix our body, which includes our mind.

We are more than conquerers, when fighting evil with truth, and goodwill, we are soldiers, centurions, with a clear avatar, and emblem on our shields and on our souls- the silver and gold emblem of sanity, upon the platinum shield of truth, and morality.

The perfection of sanity and morality are one and the same, for to be truly moral is to be truly sane, and sanity is the mind's state which does what our mother church defines as moral, in tradition and magisterium. Let us fight our sin, by converting our desires into what they truly are, and ourselves also- and by prayer, power, love, empathy- and the realization infinite- that unwarranted mercy to oppressors, is unjust persecution of the oppressed.

Dr Manfred Lutz, psychiatrist to the Congregation for the Clergy- said that the vocation of celibacy is not only at utmost a practice required in utmost necessity in the role of many within the church- but powerfully- a permanent protest against mass superficiality, within large parts of modern culture. He appealed that those who cannot live chastely- should not marry. He informed those who still have different opinions than that he was presenting- that marriage was about more than sex, and that those who view the role of a woman in a relationship as to satisfy sexual ideas- often cannot stand natural and good practices such as celibacy- in that it contradicts their worldview.

When we are brought under the waves of sin, and feel them eat away at the breach like cold, deathly acid- we truly must know that our control of our self, and self awareness, and comprehension are intimately connected, like two souls destined to be one, yet living chastely within prayer and God.

Now the mind is not the soul, we know already that the soul is our invisible part closest to our Loving source- Life, whose being, perfection and essence, we call God.

The mind is the body- moulded by her fabric- edited by evolution, or whatever manner God made us in. Original sin does not make our deepest nature evil- rather- it causes us to weaken.

When we are fighting for breath while drowning in the oceans of temptation, and feeling a tide, not our own pulling us back out to sea- so strongly that it feels as though it were our own desire- we know intuitively if at all- that we must fight the tide least we are carried out to sea- and the subtle connection between God and soul is broken as we can no longer resonate his substance with our own.

Our war is between Reality and illusion, and so the more real we are- so also the more Godly, but when we follow desires which truly are not natural, when we endorse these illusions as though they were real and ours- we commit the sin they are named after, and become less real. We possibly only become less resonating- as with venial (Latin Venia- Forgiveness) sin. When we sin mortally- the gash is deep, and causes the connection to for all intensive purposes break.

Now- when we are tempted by this ocean of sin- let us firstly define what we truly want- what natural desires are combining, and being twisted by illusion and weakness- to appear to be a desire which is not ours.

Whether the desire for happiness- which ultimately all desires are a manifestation of, or that for comfort, or that for desire.

We look at what we truly feel and aim for her purpose- we get angry- sometimes because things are not as we believe they should be, and sometimes because it is an evolutionary desire to defend our self.

We often see people who could or have hurt us as evil- this is because our body sees that which is harmful to it as ugly, or as evil- quite naturally. It is this form of judgement, as with judging based on another's wealth- something we fear for empathy- which is so dangerous.

Now, when we define what we truly feel, and why we feel this- we do not endorse the sinful desire- and never become guilty of what sin ultimately is- treating something as something it is not!

Sometimes habits are sourced in habit- but what is the trigger, is it a wrong perception, or is it because we have lied to our body through treating something as something it is not. Seeking pleasure of a sexual nature tells our body that someone is our spouse. Human beings are designed by God for lifelong marriage.

Now, there is the false argument that what animals do is what is natural for man, but this is wrong- what animals do with temporary souls- is what is beneficial to their physical form, man has an eternal (Aeviternal technically- only God is eternal) soul, and this means his self is greater than that of an animal.

Animals eat of their own kind, rabbits commit infanticide, and hippos also.

Dogs naturally seek many partners, but only when they are on heat- what is most natural for an animal is what is most beneficial to its entirety, but animals are infinitely different from man- their current souls are temporary, like their bodies are, like our bodies are.

Man is soul and body- the soul being the invisible part of the body most like God- and it is by the actions of the body that the soul, which is part of the form is effected. Man must work forward- so as to protect his self- which is body and soul. What is natural for man is that which is of benefit to him!

Now- when faced with sin- it is not sinful to say it is this or that and resist it- and fight it- for indeed- the definitions of sin are definitions of the form illusion takes- and we define it to conquer it in the confessional, but when fighting it- it is always good to show it is not our desire, but rather an illusion that we sin in ever endorsing.

Theologically- we are fully body and fully soul. The soul is the life, the body that which is given life by the soul. Before conception we have souls, life much like the animals do- temperal, not eternal- but at conception we are made permanent- aeviternal is the better word. Biblically- the soul is often used to denote the body and soul- the self of a man!

For now- our bodies are temperal- because if they were aeviternal- we would not be able to return to God. The body of a man is the only thing apart from the spiritual which can influence his soul. We cannot be saved or condemned apart from the actings of our own body. At birth- we are weakened by the lack of grace known as original sin- this is why the fear exists of many souls going straight to hell- however- in addition to our physical actions, and physical thoughts- is what we are planning to do, or would do given the chance- and this too has a ghostly effect on our lives, on our souls.

Life is more complex than many think it is- God for instance is pure Life. That means life is more than pure animation. The word animation in fact comes from the Latin word for soul- anima. We say rather- the soul and the life of a being are one thing.

When we speak of the form of one's body- we speak of something which is also utterly connected with the soul. The human person is designed that way- we interact with the world with our bodies- and are as much our body as we are our soul.

When we feel we cannot control the weakness of our body, we are lying to ourselves. Our body is ourself- we are perfectly in control when we sin. It does not make it harder or easier, but so far as we know what we are doing, know it is wrong, and are awake enough to comprehend, and alter our actions- we are responsible for our actions.

When the body has a desire- this desire is entered into with our entire self to some degree. When our desires of evil exist- we know this is purely the twisting of desires once good- but no longer so. Like the Orcs in Tolkien's Lord Of The Rings, who were once elves, and wondrous- evil is not the opposite of good- but the mutation of it- so that it is no longer as it is.

When our body has a desire- when our mind or emotions desire something- we must ask of the source of it- if the source is the same as the desire, and it is good- perhaps we have found the source- otherwise- when a desire is evil- the body does not desire something evil- even as the mind might be disposed by our past, or weakness to believe that it desires evil. It rather- either continues old habits, or believes lies we have told it, or tells us something we misunderstand, or take too heavily.

When we desire to do evil- we must view the good which has been twisted, and maligned into this desire- we must endorse this good, and focus on our breathing, and on the good- and purposely manifest the good desire apart from the evil we have been deluded into thinking is our body's desire, and push the evil desire away- be enlarging the good- and by prayer, sacraments- and the purpose of good.

Desires, and actions are not the same thing. To endorse a desire however is an action, and to fight one also is. To have an evil desire is only sin- if we do not immediately try to combat it when we realize what is happening in some valid extent. Not every desire should be acted on- for instance- the body might desire more food - having already eaten- but this is because we have lied to it, by eating too much in the past, or simply the natural desire to preserve the body's life. All desires should be dealt with in right proportion, some followed, some avoided.

When we next are tempted to sin- we must realize, we are not purely spiritual, we are also physical- otherwise we could not be judged on physical actions we take.

Archbishop Diarmuid Martin of Dublin has asked for a business, government and market mentality which not only pursues profit, but focuses on the social impact of decisions. He states that the gambles taken by representatives of large firms, take as a surety- the average person who is affected by bad or good decisions.

If one person digs a whole in the boat, to quote our Jewish Brothers- it affects everyone in the boat.

This is specially applicable in South Africa, where business, and government- often does not focus on the impact they have on the longterm economy or their citizens. A notable impact is efforts at promoting contraception by "Love Life", statistics from America, broadcast by EWTN, and mirrored by observations of the Catholic League for Civil and Religious Rights, show that often contraceptive education, and promotion of contraceptive methods of fighting disease- have been shown to backfire- with disease levels increasing. Case in point South Africa- we have the largest rate of some diseases- despite apparent efforts by government. On facebook recently was an irritating advert- leading to a questionnaire- "World Contraception Day". I wonder if the results of that will be used, and if it will be mentioned that it was advertised in such a way that the religious from groups such as ours would not click on it except accidentally. I also wonder what effect this will have on facebook users- in a country where pre-marital sex is so common- and along with it the consequences.

The Pill, for instance reduces chances of pregnancy (Not that NFP isn't just about as, if not more effective)- it also drastically increases chances of every kind of Sexual Disease. It seems our biggest issue is a societal disease- we answer everything with devices and abortions- rather than attempting to actually trust people to do the better thing.

I await the day when we teach people how to more safely use cocaine- after all, "it's better than if they did it outside the law, and encountered more danger!"

Oddly, when we create such atmospheres about things- it seems we don't really cure the problem- more abortions for one thing occur now that it is legal- than before hand. Democratic Candidate Borak Obama in the US, voted to let survivors of Abortion die if they could make it- while in England- the many of the more legislative pro-abortionists want to allow abortion right until birth.

Oddly those who call themselves pro-choice- often neither respect the choice of the child- nor that of the doctors and nurses forced by "pro-choice" legislation- to go against their choice and conscience, and be excommunicated from the Catholic church, or seemingly to break South African, and other nation's Law!

I wonder if efforts to radically reduce the populations of third world countries can fall under this?

It seems- rather than genocide we call efforts such as this "prudence", or other such things- the truth is- we desire more resources for ourselves- it does not always fit our interests to have larger population- nor do we often seem as a culture- to care if certain conditions are afflicted on others.

Now, we need to consider- is the answer to world population Article 2 section (D), or can we actually allow aid to the undeveloped world, and education about morals to developed and undeveloped world alike- things that seem to work quite well if we look into history. Instead- we choose to inflict on populations a sort of section d option- is it right? I don't know- but in the past it was labled as Genocide- have we had so universal a group of changes to our view on the subject, and can we ignore documentation which is still under enactment?

Perhaps the UN's general laws are interpretable- otherwise we need to stop these campaigns to end such disease, and stop wars, and problems over resources- by section d of the Genocide definition. Can we continue to solve the world's problems, by reducing what the world means?

Overcoming lust- a secret guide from Chastity South Africa

Firstly- let us define lust(c.f. note)-

this is the seeking of sexual pleasure apart from either its unitive or its procreative properties. I.e. anything outside of a marriage between one man and one woman- who are open to life in their actions.

Natural Family Planning is included in this- chastity that is (so long as it isn't for selfish reasons)- as it follows natural patterns and is natural- and actually asked of the Israelites in Levitical Law (Leviticus chapter 15 verse 24)and therefore is not lust...

Now, when we lust- sometimes we focus on the form of the body- but Michael Angelo's David is not evil or pornographic- nor much of Christian art. That made to incite lust- or viewed to incite lust, or which shows what should be a private act to the world becomes sinful- and lust- but lust is not an interest in the sexual form- rather- what is sinful is to look at anything with the intent of doing a lustful action with it. Jesus notes this when he says looking at a woman with lust is adultery.

So- how does one overcome it- well- one can be freed from it in confession- but every sin is still a risk- what we- since writing on all sin as insanity- have realized- is that lust is the twisting of a good, natural, God given desire into something evil- whenever we are tempted in lust- we must look deep, and ask why- what causes it- is it the desire to marry a beautiful lady (or man for the ladies), or to enjoy our marriage one day- but not now, or the desire for marriage or for self esteem, which has been twisted. Endorse the desire below in a godly manner- and the lust should disappear.

Remember- if we don't endorse sinful thoughts- but fight them- we hold no guilt for these- instead- when we come to our senses- we must immediately look into why, determine to confess and stop our sin- and see what role we played in it to prevent another occurance- often something caused us to fall- we need either to avoid it if it is sinful- or in a safe environment- alter these internal perceptions that cause goodness to prevent right perception and lead to sin.

Lust is always misperception of another as a tool to cure an unsatisfied desire- or else to use any tool to satisfy sexual desire without the unitive and pro-creative properties both present...

If we satisfy the root desire which has been twisted, or abused by the devil into lust- the good one- not the evil one- whether the desire to show affection, or to gain self esteem, or that for something pleasurable (though of the pleasure of praying?- but generally a desire for pleasure comes from loneliness), or a desire for companionship... if we do so in a Godly manner- lust cannot survive, as we push it out and satisfy the plant this weed tries to cling to... and destroy the heinous weed of lust...

In all of these- the saints all hear and desire to be our guides and companions- loneliness is a terrible thing- but God intended us for happiness- and he is the first step to gaining companions- and love, and truth- for every friend we lose for him- he pays us back a million times in this world and the next- now this is what the bible says- of renouncing evil...

So- when lust tries to take you- start to pray to a saint- be sure to ask why you desire this- and do not listen to sinful excuses- look below and endorse the desire you have neglected- which evil is taking advantage of- and ask yourself what you would do if a Godly person were to see your actions and be dismayed- would you hide them- or does your mind reply-

"who cares- that is their problem"

Now, if one says this- and this is of a Godly person- and one is not saying- I will prevail in good nonetheless- because we are speaking of a Godly person- nor are we saying- I will try help them understand- because this is us speaking of what sinful and such a reply is not appropriate.

In this scenario, are we justifying our actions- or are we concerned as to heal our neighbor from perceiving us as evil? Now this only is when our neighbor is Godly.

So often- when in sin- the church and saints look scary- and we turn from them, or think chastity is impossible- or that we must only do this or that to prove we are not in lust- but the saints and the sacrament of penance (Gospel of John chapter 20 verse 23) are often our only recourse- and not sinning is always an option to us children of truth- God promised strength in temptation if we choose his path.

Remember- acting in lust, such as foreplay, like French Kissing outside of marriage (c.f. Saint Thomas Aquinas- Summa Theologica- "Parts of Lust"), makes the body believe another is your spouse- after-all- God created us for marriage- not lust- and so it thinks you cruel to do otherwise- unless you strictly discipline it. I have also seen men wearing women's clothing- even Catholics- this too is lust, or at least provoking others to it- to which on seeing such people- I have made a cruel* joke to them before- to demonstrate that they are aiding sins along... however much fun they are having being silly at events- it is the same sort of events for which God desecrated the people of Canaan- and asked the Israelites to stone such men. Wearing women's clothing is only acceptable with a valid reason- such as fleeing enemies...

Overcoming lust by self mortification- fasting and thinking of what one has done, or hurting one's self in tactical ways while thinking of one's sin, or smelling something horrid while thinking of one's sin- or placing one's feet in hot (not dangerously so)water- while thinking of what one has done- and then also confessing it- whether thoughts or actions- truly can destroy lust or many other sins quite quickly- and Pavlo's dog agrees.

Self mortification is not strange- in fact- Catholics are required to abstain from meat (not fish- but also from expensive fish and shellfish)on Fridays- although some Dioceses have permitted this to be supplemented with charitable actions on Fridays outside of Lent, where it is generally compulsory.

Once one overcomes sin-

From that point on- prayer- and the trick of finding what desire has been twisted into evil, along with the constant threat of mortification- and an understanding of whether an action is selfish or not- and constant desire to ask the saints for help can aid tremendous amounts... remember also- that reading a Catholic bible, or Godly Catholic article, or prayer- and determining to hear God, and wait this sin out can also aid. Never think something odd is necessary- always follow intuition and God- and be careful when passions and emotion takes you- try to ask why it is so- and if the reason is just- by all means allow emotion- but let the rational mind rule- and always remember how strict, but merciful God is- he condemns a good man who turns evil in his last years, and forgives a prostitute who has just confessed to the priest, and repented (or who has determined to join the faith- whereby it would take a while until her first confession).

Remember- the church is your doctor- your priest your spiritual healer- he is bound to secrecy in confession.

* I simply pointed out to the people I spoke to- that their actions might be cruel to those who would be affected by it, something as straight persons, such as I also am- they would not desire- I in no way was mean to them- but often people don't realize the impact they could have, and the hurt they could cause those in sin- or with evolutionary lacks that cause them not to desire certain things that the advancement of the species requires- and I enjoy humour as a tool to aid people. To me this action is on level with harming others like tempting someone who compulsively steals- as my morality sees such actions as wrong- even as the mind may be affected to desire wrong things- I think tempting another into what my church calls a mortal sin is also wrong- especially when done by those not under such.

Bishop gives admirable speech- to gay audience that invited him

Sacramento Coadjutor Bishop Jaime Soto recently was keynote speaker at a gay and lesbian catholics conference in America- where he was expected by many to do what some American bishops have done on issues ranging from salvation, to the mass, to abortion- and endorse the heretical* view of the group....

Instead- and I will quote his words of wisdom, and disapproval of the sin these poor persons where they manifested a heretical* view of marriage and were perhaps are separated from the Ecclesiam by-

"[Cal Catholic Daily] But there was noting ambiguous about Bishop Soto’s remarks to the group. “Sexual relations between people of the same sex can be alluring for homosexuals, but it deviates from the true meaning of the act and distracts them from the true nature of love to which God has called us all,” Bishop Soto said. “For this reason, it is sinful. Married love is a beautiful, heroic expression of faithful, life-giving, life-creating love. It should not be accommodated and manipulated for those who would believe that they can and have a right to mimic its unique expression."

At least five members of the audience walked out during the bishop’s address. When he finished speaking, there was general silence -- with only a very small number applauding.

The chairman of the conference then announced that the bishop would answer questions at a reception that would be held in another room. That led to widespread expressions of disapproval from members of the audience, who said they wanted to be able to express their responses immediately. It was agreed that those who wanted to speak would line up. The bishop was told twice by the chairman that he was free to leave if he wanted -- or to stay and listen. Bishop Soto stayed and sat quietly listening to every response.

A series of about eight speakers came to the microphone to express their unhappiness with what the bishop had said -- and what they felt he had not said. One woman said, in essence, "We know what the Church says. What we wanted you to talk about is the value of our lived experience as lesbian women and gay men."

Two speakers -- one man and one woman -- thanked the bishop for his address and voiced their agreement with what he had to say.

While the audience members were responding to the bishop’s remarks, a board member of the National Association of Catholic Diocesan Lesbian and Gay Ministries came up to one of the tables in the room and said, "On behalf of the board, I apologize. We had no idea Bishop Soto was going to say what he said.""
