I'm still wearing my suit. This evening I went to an evening at Wits, a Theater evening where an acquaintance was to sing. Wits is the nickname of The University of The Witwaterssrand. The English being "White Water's" and something.

The performance was interesting- I of course viewed a noisy group behind me with a glance every now and then to quiet down out of respect. Notice how the audience is quiet while the singers sing or actors act- we have such respect for actors and actresses, we wear suits, or casual clothes that aren't quite so casual- and observe customs- how much more should we be so- when watching as God warps time- so that we witness again his crucifixion in absolute clarity and reality- the intuitive sense angels and saints around them as the sensitive watch this event- and our heart beats faster as we rise for communion.

We should be enthralled- God calls the mass a mystery- what we should not forget is the utter utterness of what we are present at and what all loyalty must be amazed by is the invisible truth of what occurs. For this we do not talk, nor focus on banal things, we do not clap, we should not take communion on the hand, but on the tongue- as Mother Church asks us to, we do not hold hands in the our father- we are watching someone we love die- there is a place for community- it is called the sign of peace. We are watching someone die for us- and eating their living flesh- let us respect the occasion- dress appropriately- and certainly not be embarrassed to show the right body language. It is the disrespectful in theater, in mass, and those who do not treat situations as one prudently should- who show up their ignorance, and banal actions, or simply negligence, or unknowingness. Sacrilege is called such- because it is not obvious to the intuitively challenged.

What we witness is bread and wine no longer existing, but appearing to- and in intuition we know- it is body, blood, soul and divinity we are feasting on- of a living being.

Let us respect him who lets us eat him- let us respect God in the mass!

Highlighting the importance of peace in Christian life, in resonance with Pope Benedict XVI, and the role of the laity in spreading the Gospel, as realized through Opus Dei, and that God himself is peace- Bishop Javier Echevarría noted that Pope John Paul the Second declared the starting of Opus Dei by Saint Josemaria Escriva', to be divinely inspired in Ut Sit. This speech by the Bishop was to celebrate the recent 80th anniversary of the founding of Opus Dei, founded on the 2nd of October 1928.

Pope- Church needs to be in political sphere of things

Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, has once again fronted the truth that the church and state can live in harmony- showing how the Vatican and Italy have been able to respect each one's sovereignty. However- he believes that the freedom the church requires in God should not be limited to freedom to practice religion- but also freedom to influence the political and public square of the ever varying and sometimes hostile environments, in which she finds herself.

Once again, while allowing states to be run by laymen, or by foreigners to the church, Benedict- while respecting the concept- the Priest must never bear the sword (Summa Theologica- Saint Thomas Aquinas- Doctor of the Church), Benedict XVI once again shows us how vital it is for Catholics to become inebriated in grace- within the political spectrum- so as not only locally, but certainly locally- but also through the use of states- the universal truth may be made clearly known- and good may be fought for, as it once was yielded against the Donatists, when they thought they could murder with impunity.

Church and state are separate- but not layman and state- and nor should the morals guiding the church and the morals of the state be separate- rather the laws of the land must be made to reflect the laws of conscience and church. The Catholic is obligated to influence the political scene in which he exists, and the church has every right to be shown very publicly to be true.

Benedict XVI understands more than many that the church is the conscience of the state, and its watchdog- it must be fully empowered through allowance of it in the Public Realm- so as to permit it to do the work of fighting for what is right and true, through itself and through governments. Church and state may be two separate powers, but they exist in but one reality, with one God- and as such must be on the same side- least the state turn on the church as in Vietnam currently- where the Bishops are asking for our prayers.

Once again- Benedict XVI shows us the importance of voting for those who best reflect the church- and of having the church as a public teacher and warning for all our brothers in humanity!

Church- Governments must welcome migrants- and not fortify already tight controls

The Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People has delivered Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI's message on Migration- with the theme that Saint Paul was a migrant throughout Asia minor, and the middle east- clarifying that migration cannot be prevented- but rather should be regulated in a efficient and Godly manner- not simply through closing the door on those traveling- but by advancing a regulated orderly way of allowing migration and its beneficial results.

The Holy See is promoting the brotherly bond of Christians and people themselves throughout the world- showing the importance of charity- in a prudent and acceptable way which will allow migration and world issues to become beneficial.

The address is ahead of "World Day of Migrants and Refugees" (Vatican Information Service 08/10/08) to be celebrated on the 18/01/2009.

Understanding silence- when the church or God is silent- what it truly can mean!

Ever noticed how during the lives of many of her prophets- mother church does not tell us much?

Does this mean they are not prophets- or indeed that they are such. Also- on many issues- Mother church seems quiet as a dolphin in water- or the melting icebergs- this does not mean she is not talking in the silent groans of conscience or history.

It is foolish to interpret Mother Church's silence as indecisive- or as permissive- rather- and now I nearly quote a friend- to truly understand God when he speaks, we must first comprehend his message through his silence- as with Mother church.

When the Israelites were conquering Canaan- they were first ordered not to attack another country- as a sort of test that they succeeded in for that short moment in history. If they had attacked- God would not have helped them, or maybe just for a small amount- but for many of our events- Mother Church, and God seem silent.

Firstly- we must ask if perhaps we do not understand the language or subtle streams of intuitive truth that are constantly sent out by countless saints. If we do not comprehend this hidden message- we must truly try to listen harder- God's voice is softer than that of the saints, and more subtle still.

Often bishops, even popes misinterpret even their own words from God. The truth of God is on the edge of a hair's breadth sharpened into a blade- when we are to obey him- it is exact, not always a general path- but rather like one as a feather moving on the streams of air.

God's silence- and that of the church are often there so that we are not drowned down when we speak- they are there so that we are permitted to sound the war-cry- so that we are permitted to quietly work and clear the territory. Now I speak figuratively- but we truly are the eyes and ears of the church- and it is a silence before the storm when she is silent- when the moaning ice is softened for us personally to comprehend- so as to permit the hearing of this silence- by others, through us.

Isaiah was known for his experience with silence, and how an almost negative value of noise hit him when he heard it.

We must never interpret silence as an opportunity to permit ourselves too much freedom- but rather as an opportunity to walk past the golden locks and break the conundrum of her past- so as to secure the future before most know the necessity.

So, when Mother Rome is silent on an issue, such as the Tridentine Mystery, or the Liturgical Abuse, or many human rights violations- perhaps we simply do not hear her softer voice below all the noise we and others make- yet her silence is so that we can speak for her. It is the heat upon the butter so that we may melt it for her. We must not remain silent- for Mother Church awaits our voice- so that she may resonate in it. The Church is not called Militant for no reason- we work for justice and for truth, and peace- yet the right sort of this. When she is silent- this is a sign, whether of trust, or of danger- yet do not forget not to forget that the Laity are not called the Catholic church's Shock Troops for nothing- the truth is our weapon- reality the battleground- let us ensure that on issues of silence we see why there is silence- and follow intuition in these- so as not to be accountable for wrong- when radio silence came before the storm, or when dangerous people prevented others from hearing the truth.

Saint Paul fed firstly the early Christians with milk, with basics- but then told the Hebrews- that they also needed to move forward to proper food. When we are not fed with meat, but with milk- this is because we are not yet ready for meat. As long as we have not the capacity for the graces we desire- we will never catch them in the storm's winds.

There is not an issues in Mother church with just a lack of evangelization- no the lack is in ability to bear the grace required for God's next assault on the darkness. We should focus within for this time, even as we help others- God does not want the boat to sink- even as it fills with water as we speak- once we fill the holes in the hull- then we will succeed in rescuing the survivors from the shipwreck of our existence, with capacity to take on more passengers.

For now we must use the silence to mold into truth- surely- wherever the fortress of truth is erected- it must be supported by grace- if we protect the truth we must know the danger of half truths, and that the reason they are so attractive is that the desire for the goodness we see in these false reflections- is so often because we have been denied this good within our own souls- and evil wants to tempt us to take a lesser version of this.

We must not fall for this idea- for a lesser version of good- but rather give food to the truer version- and slowly fix our broken spines. We must look within and begin the regeneration after the wound we've been nursing for hundreds of years. Simply bucketing in the water will not help- we must patch up the breach with new putty- with internal putty- so that when high tide finally hits the beach- our little mud hut will be secure.

Silence- truly it speaks with a powerful echo of truth- let us always reverberate in the greater truths- and copy these always- knowing also that we are the pillar and foundation of all truth- and when it is spoken in us- it reverberates- it, its resonance spreads and echoes and amplifies on the echoing channel of our canyon of essence. We must know the power even of whispered truth- it is the night breeze which becomes the hurricane. We must never give up hope- nor in the slightest way ever stop fighting for the truths which are even slightly greater- we do this by grabbing onto the greater truth- and finding the whole spectrum moving with us into the sunlight, and the depths of faith's ocean.

First World crisis affects everyone

Agenzia Fides is noting that the financial crises in the west is affecting African businesses, even if they are not entirely linked with the global economy. This is mirrored in the JSE, and other markets which are down somewhat- what the rich do affects everyone!

While Kenya claims arms aboard the "Faina" were bound for them- Agenzia Fides think it odd that a country with access to western arms is buying from Eastern Europe, and have used this opportunity to highlight previous occasions- when such incidences have turned out to be arms trafficking.

This as the capturing of the ship by criminals has caught international attention.

Media Study South Africa- Disney's Camp Rock Reviewed

In Catholic circles- Disney is a big no-no- we don't like to use their products, don't like what they do about our religion, and don't like their stances on abortion and homosexuality- or the way in which men in their movies often land up in dresses for some odd reason.

The Jonas Brothers ("Catholic Exchange 13/09/08"; 16/09/08)- who appear in this movie- are noted to the public as virgins- who wear purity rings- something that does not clink well with Disney's usual image- but something positive from "role Models", mind you, Miley Cyrus also apparently wears one, not that she isn't right in this- but that did not prevent the pictures in Vanity Fair of the slightly dressed self! The Jonas Brother's Father is a minister in a Christian church, and purity rings are a sign of a promise of chastity to God. The Jonas Brothers have been publicly slammed by some in their industry for this practice- but seem not to have stopped it.

Camp rock hasn't got such a bad theme- the main character lies to get popular- but eventually, losing much for the lie- turns to the truth, and love of family and more real people somewhat honorably- it is a cute romance movie which causes you to fall in love with the female lead before the end. Parents are portrayed positively in this movie- a big step forward for Disney- even as main characters continue to strike one as oddballs.

Even the bad guys in this movie turn around, and are empathized with.

Of course the idea of going on a camp and falling in love- is neither new, nor utterly healthy- but this movie is an improvement. To be honest- it is in some ways just another mass produced Disney corporate recipe, but however simply they manage to create a cliché plot- they are not entirely bad at this.

One might further note the "bitchy" high school banter between characters- which might be a negative- but once again a step up from some offerings up there from Disney.

This is an acceptable movie to watch in our opinion, however we should be careful that children do not become too attached to the Disney name.

Opus Dei prelate- Eightieth anniversary of founding of Opus Dei- humility important

On the 80th anniversary, which was four days ago- since Josemaria Escriva', a personal favourite of mine among the saints, founded Opus Dei- the Prelate of Opus Dei- an organization he founded to let its members live God's calling in everyday life is (Opus Dei- 01/10/08) telling Opus Dei members and us who hear him- that humility is important. Opus Dei allows for holiness in daily existence- its members preach the gospel in their lives, though their lives- in this unique way in which the calls to holiness are realized.

Escriva- notes Opus Dei- saw the scriptures, not as something for or of the past- but a means of communication for the present.

His willingness to obey God- caused him to realize that the "scales" had "fallen from his eyes", in his own personal Damascus road. Thus he began such godly work with his time. Opus Dei, and this man's many influences are fruits of his humility in founding this great organization, and personal prelate within mother church.

Pope- we serve the Living God, who is not now dead- but brings unity, clarity and much good to men

The Holy Father, this Sunday- on opening the fist Synod of Bishops to have a non-Christian speaker- opened the Synod on the role of the Word of God in the Holy Catholic church.

He enforced the truth that God is alive and powerful- no matter how man may determine to hide this- and showed those present in his wording that he hoped this synod, and the time left to us as Mother church would cause more missionary activities- spreading the divine, wonderment of our deep-rooted hope in Christ's resurrection. He told his listeners- that when people reject God, and societies reject God- it leads to division and confusion- and never the desired results, but rather the destruction of cultures, and the wonderful things which the peace of the church ensures are preserved and which the church has brought forward to receive power in our daily existences.

The Holy Father- in this synod- also is showing us the value of the scriptures in the church. Many Catholics don't even have a basic knowledge of these works- which were made by the church, and declared inspired in 382 A.D. by Mother church, just about the time when the papacy commissioned the Vulgate.

While apologetics and explanation of the scriptures is vital to avoid every heresy- the Scriptures should be gladly read, all while submitting to the church and asking wise Catholics questions. We must never let the scriptures take a back door.

In South Africa in particular- we have the opportunity to share our interpretation of the scriptures publicly with our peers in a sharing manner- perhaps this discussion will quell the in-built enmity placed in many parts of society- and free people from limited spirituality into the never ending chasm of truth in which we as Catholic scholars joyously feel ourselves encompassed in.

He noted that to ignore the scriptures is to ignore Christ himself, even quoting Jerome- famous translator of one of the first complete bibles- the Latin Language Vulgate. He noted our deep, powerful hope- which tells us that death and evil do not conquer good when the ends come in time, and breath. He said that it is the very purpose of Mother church- to preach the Gospel. The church does much for the world, but we note that it is the Church Militant- that means we are fighting a spiritual skirmish- for which we do all we do to allow hope and goodness in this world- and to be able to assure it to those who continue in our specific hope- for all their aeviternal existence!

Reviewing Nickelodeon's- Avatar- the Last airbender

In this, one of Nickelodeon's best programs in complexity of plot, and focus on virtue, and acceptance and rejection of cultural beliefs- we see three friends and companions who go on a journey together to help Aang, the last surviving airbender, and avatar (link between their world and the spirit world of their world)- to learn to master all four of the bending arts.

Kartara, a water bender probably has a small, and reciprocal crush with Aang. Her brother is the other companion, who is always practicle, and sometimes what she might consider lazy.

Points to be watched

Aang looks like a Buddhist monk, and many elements in this programs are eastern- including the appearance of deities("spirits"), and the concept from some system- whereby the moon and seas have spirits which help waterbenders to control the water.

Generally- we enjoy this program- a foundational knowledge of the power of Saints should likely be given to a child- so they see the spirits as saints, and one must be cautious of only one moral issue, other than the eastern belief system- and that is the lightness with which some lies are treated by main characters- even as lying is considered somewhat wrong, or shown sometimes to be of less benefit than truth- there is some danger in this.

Generally, this program is cute and exiting- and parents could watch it with children- and perhaps explain any problems they may have- or even link its moral themes to the gospel. After all- all belief systems of our more aspiring peers have some elements of truth- just out of proportion, or not the fullness of it.

In watching programs like this- a parent may desire to view it like reading a book- see the characters as independent characters, as people- and the cartoon effect wont be so hard.

As it is we truly desire more Catholic programs on television, and this program while morality is a focus, is not a Catholic program- however- this series does emphasize the value of the spiritual world, of discipline and wisdom, and of morals.

As long as Catholic virtues and doctrine are emphasized in the home, such as with daily bible or catechism readings as a family and possibly prayer- and questions- such minor influences of other cultures are eradicated- and one is left with another influence for good morals and a value for peoples, cultures, and the spiritual.

Also- we should remember always to point out- we have got differences with the eastern view- their's is not our perception of the world- but that does not mean we don't see some values in many of their beliefs and practices- this is what we could say to a child- not saying persay that the show is eastern, rather- emphasizing what is similar to our beliefs, and what is different in this show they enjoy- but saying- we enjoy many things that have some morals and values- and some truth, even if they haven't got its entirety.

Always try to make family time important- and perhaps sometimes watch these mad, and even enjoyable programs your children watch- with them- so that you can turn what is a solitary thing into a bonding thing- of course don't try to be a child, or "cool" parent- just be yourself in such things.

Saint Francis and cute images we are graced with on television

Fulling up 18 and a large bit pages of Butler's lives of saints- is (pages 1193 to 1212 Volume 3),
saint Francis- who preached to and loved animals- all the while restoring firstly a local church from ruin, and following this- the Universal church. He founded the Franciscans- and lived a virtuous life. He was the first recorded to get stigmata- huge scars, with nails in on his limbs- and was always wise, holy and forgiving. It is only when faced with a zealous Muslim, who refused to see a miracle- by allowing Saint Francis and his priest into a burning inferno, that this zealous man could not convert someone.

Now I am the first to wish for more focus on a man's life than the animals he loved, and for more to focus on the doctrinal points of faith, but also one of the first to feel their heart melt as the BBC shows images of animals being splashed and encompassed with Holy Water from monks in brown robes!

So, when images of blessings make the secular press- with cute animals it is a blessing.

I often see priests and their cat or dogs, or dog, or cats- and think- wow that is so special. I have even had a cat join me in confession before- while it enjoyed my attention- having been sneaking in with the previous confessor.

My favourite priest, while I enjoy many priests' sermons- is one whose dog, his best friend for many years died- and who said he had private revelation that it was in heaven, or thought it was there anyway.

What Saint Francis teaches us is the value of all life. Animal souls (soul is the same meaning as life), as with human bodies- are temperal- but if human bodies are to be remade in eternity, to encompass our aeviternal souls- surely- will God not remake our animals- perhaps many theologians are right. C.s. Lewis (a non-Catholic in actuality at least) presented me with a conundrum- and my answer was- whatever has ever happened is the present to God- surely animals always exist- if not only in his memory, and ours. Other than that- what prevents these beautiful wonders from being remade with our new bodies when we rise to life at the end of the age?

Today's saint- Saint Bruno- who founded the Garthusian monks, also shows us what a fascination with life can do to aid the spiritual. This man- who also accused a superior of simonry and much else in a Church court- was fascinated by knowledge- and many books- yet eventually- as ingenious as he was, as profound and loved, and loving- he left society for the barren wilderness to obey God in his eternity there.

Now we know- we do not often want our friends to find loneliness- but in loneliness- we find an ultimate peace- with God who is lonely himself- though he has all he desires- yet he is lonely for every soul he does not have- our value there always- in that God used his own breath to bring us about!

What lesson is to be learned- but how vital every life is- for to be alive in to manifest Life himself- and Life is our creator, and the mediator of our existence!

Congo- citizens don't get profits from fuel production, focus on poor- bishops

The Catholic Bishops in Congo- find it sad that average citizens don't profit from the proceeds of one of the largest fuel producing economies in Africa. They have asked for focus on the poor of this country- who suffer terribly, some missing a day's worth of food regularly (once a week), and were many die from many diseases in their poverty. Efforts involves studies by Caritas.

Guinea- 50 years, but still no true democracy- local Catholic source tells Agenzia Fides

50 years of independence, in The Republic of Guinea, means little- according to Agenzia Fides, in an article on Friday, which quotes a local Catholic source as saying that the republic was not truly democratic- but run by the family of the president.

Guinea is one of the poorest countries in the world, much of this is blamed on corruption.

ID and PAC, ACDP, DA on Gay Marriage and Abortion

It seems from my research that every single opposition party, except the UDM which refused participation, and the DA, who allowed their MPs to vote with conscience- apposed the ANC bill which forced through Gay marriage- by not allowing ANC MPs to vote against such.

As for Abortion- The DA, always allows freedom of conscience to MPs on Moral issues, but the ANC has it in their manifesto, or plan, whatever it may be- since the 1994 election- that Abortion should basically be a right for women. The ANC of course passed both abortion and Gay marriage in South Africa with their parliamentary advantages- and by forcing their MPs to vote against conscience and for the party. For the abortion bill we have Mandela and the liberation Generals of the ANC to thank. To vote ANC was the matter of Mortal sin in every previous election- but if one did not know the facts- perhaps one is innocent- of course in the next election no Catholic who knows their policies can avoid mortal sin by voting ANC.

DA is very clever- they don't bring morals into force on others- and therefore can almost always be voted for at present because their policies on the major issues usually are- it involves morals- let us leave it to conscience. Not that I don't wish they had said- automatic opposition though!

On the more recent "Termination of Pregnancy Amendment bill", which was worse than the previous one- showing just how much further the ruling party seems constantly to fall towards non-negotiables- the African Christian Democratic Party, the Freedom Front, the Federation of Democrats where quick to vote against the additional measure, all as the Democratic Alliance permitted their members freedom of vote as they chose, which probably could mean for, as many hopefully voted against on the matter. This as 9 out of every 10 South Africans drastically appose abortion. Many of the abortions performed here, are from people who come across the border to use the free facilities.

Now the PAC and ID vote on this isn't noted by news 24. Other sources noted that in addition to the ACDP and FF, and FD, the UCDP and the IFP which openly apposed this additional legislation. The ID allowed a free vote, as the DA always does while and this is revolting, and means these parties should be added to your never vote for if possible list- ANC, UDM and MF all were in support of the bill.

Apparently the ruling party, and supporters of this bill- acting against the people's wishes- have yet to have a single MP publicly defend these actions, as asked by "ChristianView Network" (P E Church Net- 19/08/2004) who offered two thousand rand to anyone who could find such a parliamentarian.

And so- so far the parties South African Catholics will likely commit mortal sin in voting for are the ANC, UDM, and MF.

As for the ID, before 2003 they did not exist, so we couldn't find their original votes. The party's well known leader was a PAC member- part of a party known for the policy of some members of one "settler" one bullet, and has been in some controversial issues. The ACDP- is a protestant parrty, but a small party, and I don't know where they stand on other issues. The DA are our largest opposition, and have no official view on morality issues.

Parties, which on these two issues seem relatively clean are the DA, ID, ACDP and FF, and FD, the UCDP and the IFP. We do not know the policies of the PAC on these, but they seems against. One must not forget the calls of some of their party's members in the past calls for what sounded like genocide against white people in the past though- which could place them as a don't vote for party. Yes, the claim is that "One settle one bullet" refered to oppressors- but some murders show a different perspective in some of their listeners. The ID comes as an offshoot from the PAC, and this could be an issue on which to avoid votes for them. Of course- in modern times- the PAC has distanced itself very much from such statements. It has not stopped them asking in the TRC for amnesty for some killers of white persons.

Parties on these two issues, which cannot be voted for are: ANC, UDM, and MF.

Democratic Alliance (DA) and issues of faith

While the DA itself has not answered us on their position on such issues, several internet sources we have made use of- with different views of the given party- show a relative reluctance, even negative response from this party to the Gay Marriage, and Abortion laws in South Africa.

In such matters- the DA has always- it seems- afforded their MPs a free vote, as they are matters of conscience- but the DA does seem more friendly to the Catholic view on these matters- than the ANC, who have been blamed by many for forcing such issues through parliament.

Once again we must note, the ANC under Nelson Mandela gave us our current abortion laws, and the ANC is the authority in place under which gay marriage was legalized and other issues have occurred. As always- we recognize the need for South African catholics to vote for opposition parties, as the ANC consistently disappoints, I personally am impressed however by how the DA handled these issues- they truly do seem as a party with a very wise, and stable opposition.

India- Fifteen thousand walk in solidarity with Catholics against the Anti-Christian and other Violence

Showing signs of solidarity- 15 000 people of different faiths- Christian, Hindu, Islamic, Sikh and Buddhist, demonstrated their protests at attacks on Christians (02/10/2008)- where leaders of different religions denounced the violence, which seems to fit the description of genocide- occurring in India at present.

Hindu supremacists, responsible for the attacks were condemned at this meeting. The Hindu religious leaders have continually decried these actions so foreign to right morals, and were again present at this march- which fortunately also picked up some political support, with certain politicians present.

The vigil involved prayers in front of a monument to Ghandi- a founding father of the secular Indian Nation, where religious rights were emphasized by leaders. India has a history of harmony emphasized between religions, however BBC yesterday- which finally gave this crisis more airtime, on the raping of a Catholic nun- conducted an interview with a non-denominational organization which claimed that tensions have been rising for decades- with Christians being slandered for that time by many leaders.

It is Catholic schools, homes, churches, and citizens that are hardest hit by this violence that crosses territories, and targets Christians of every creed.

Police negligence has been alleged by Christian sources- who claim that the police are not doing enough to quell violence, and that attacks make it even into refugee camps. Many of those fleeing the violence- having escaped with their lives- face dangers from nature in India's jungles, which have been demonstrated to claim lives. We, based on the news of another organization- particularly reported on the death of Sister Mable on September 30, 2008, who had prior this- lost her life to malaria.

With the article from the Vatican itself emphasizing the amount of feminine experts attending- the Church will on Sunday have opened their 12th "general assembly of the Synod of Bishops"( Catholic Culture 03/10/08).

Events include a Jewish Rabbi who will speak of the Jewish perspective on scriptures. Also attending are many experts, as well as delegates from the Eastern Orthodox churches, Lutherans, Anglicans, and others.

Ivory Coast- Soldiers fired for "Mutiny" as voters are registered

91 soldiers have been fired from the Ivory Coast National Army, and 13 deserted as voters are registering. The country has been in crisis since 2002. It is divided into government and rebel territories, hopefully an election will settle the dispute! Elections have been postponed before. The government of the country controls the south, the "New Forces" rebels the North-West of the war-torn country.

The Hanoi Archbishop and Catholic protesters face further problems with the very anti-catholic actions of the Vietnamese Communist Regime's governance.

The Prime minister of communist Vietnam has accused the Archbishop of breaking the law, despite absence of any court of law- and has threatened action against Catholic protesters. This also circulates a diplomatic building owned by the church decades before the communist regime came to power on the back of peace protests against protecting Vietnam from the communists in the US.

Communist is known as an evil ideology under the doctrines of the Church.

Abortion arguments and the ultimate illogic of our laws on abortion

With the 700 billion dollar bailout of the US banking sector expected to pass- one thing is certain- the concept of this itself is foreign to the American spirit- but they have been convinced that it is necessary- and so many will vote for it.

Now, let us look at abortion- many abortion advocates want abortion until birth- that is that path pro-abortion states often go, further than already forcing South African citizens to deny their religious obligations- by aiding abortionists.

So, what is the difference between the unborn and the born- to me it lies in a small document- it lies in citizenship- these peoples are not citizens of South Africa yet- and we often get away with actions against foreigners that we could never get away with against our own citizens.

Apparently, it was Mandela's government which legalized abortion, this is what Wikipedia and other sources tell us about this famous man so many South Africans have grown to Idolize- under him- abortion became widely legal.

Is the argument that Mandela was in support of abortion, or in the very minimum that his government at least was- an argument that justifies it. I say no to this.

Now- those in support have argued- yes but those women would get it anyway- in fact- they even kill the child once it's borne. I will not repeat the rest of the argument- due to the way it views many less well off South Africans- what I will do is combat it.

Because rape is done anyway- should we legalize a less violent form of it?
Should we allow people to bring others they don't like into hospitals for killing them?
after all- both of these issues can't be stopped entirely by legal systems- is it right however to do lesser systems of it- or restrain a victim to protect the oppressor- in a safer environment in which they can perform what they desire in their best interest.

Others say- let us permit abortion and contraception to reduce world population, but according to the 1951 UN declaration on Genocide, by which we prosecute war criminals- these people are advocating genocide (article 2 section d).

Others still say- these children are not intelligent yet- so, are we to make a scale of intelligence, like in some brilliantly thought out sci-fi fantasies- and kill all those below it?

Others say- the child is not alive- but how then and when then does life begin- surely- science can't create life- so how can it say when it begins- all it can say is- surely- the sperm was alive- but even as millions of sperm died on the way to the womb, we were not able to save these lives of what is not yet identified by most as human. The sperm certainly is not the same life-form as the mother.

It is now that the sperm and the egg combine- whether or not the sperm dies in this- well I don't know- but it certainly combines with the egg to form something neither entirely from the mother, nor entirely from the father. Again- at this point many people die, they also die in miscarriage- but again we cannot prevent this entirely.

Now, the church itself does not allow condoms- it thinks it wrong to automatically cause the sperm death, of course in the case of Natural Family Planning- they use the argument of Abraham- whose infertile 100 year old or so wife conceived a child.

So- we admit that the thing that emerges in conception- is independent of mother and father- it has unique genes, and can replicate it's own cells. Like we rely on our planet to survive- it too rely's on its environment- the womb.

Now, if we quash someone's dreams before they know what they are- we still quash them- if it is going to be human with all certainty unless we intervene- then it is our fault if it ceases to be- as it is- it is human- simply at an earlier stage.

Murder is the purposeful killing of another through action or purposeful inaction, where the other is not in this death being justly punished for a crime, or else is not an unjust aggressor, or supporter of unjust aggression.

Nothing a child who is not capable of aggression yet can do is unjust as yet.

Ultimately- I see no circumstance in which we validly allow abortion, in that the life taken is not guilty of anything. Of course, for some reason, despite many South Africans agreeing with me- our government, under Nelson Mandela- chose to further allow more than highly limited abortion in our country. Is this right?

All I know is that what is legal and what is moral is not always the same thing- even as the only real justification of any legal system is necessity and morality- otherwise it simply becomes a system of oppression of others- that gain may be made by certain groups who it benefits.

Why and how we need to inebriate our cultures- with what is healthy and excellence- over the toxic!

Is anyone surprised that so many of our programs and films, and books are imported?

Or our clothes for that matter- freshly printed from possible foreign child labour- in such a way that we are forced to buy these horrid human rights abuse products- simply because almost all the manufacturers use such, and because the shops almost all buy from these.

Is there such a lack for instance, of animated talent in cartoon production in South Africa, or in the natural talent to act or write?

- honestly- I think the real issue is a lack of infrastructure- why don't we promote talent to write stories, for others to animate, or act out? Why doesn't the industry, or us ourselves- take risks, like any aspiring culture?

Now imports are wonderful things- but what is good of imports generally comes from the better traits of men- whereby we should not import culture from the West, but from God.

We love to promote promiscuity, or abortion (seems like article 2 section d of the genocide (UN General Assembly Voted definition) to me, but then again I am Catholic), or so many things through our media- simply because these channels are open- or because all or most of our media it seems by the results, needs an imprimatur- not from bishops or governments- but to ensure it is "liberal enough", either to do only basic good, or else even to damage us. Yes it is metaphoric, but I am sad to see what is allowed, and what is stifled before it is born.

Yes, perhaps there are conservative people in media in South Africa- but since when did we need to resonate what America does with creating structure? Media used to be, like science- almost the sole domain of conservatism- of Religion.

I hear more on our news about a school shooting, than about genocide against Christians in India, and Iraq. It is odd, is not that we so often also import our views, and media..?

Granted- South African views aren't too superior- they are generally just South African- but what if we were serious about trying to rise above culture, and differences- what if we went to our universal root values- and promoted that- in an honest way- rather than being told how to think?

If there were South African Catholic media efforts, I know there are some which i am pleased by, I would want to support them- if they, like a few we already have- were, and are quality that is. Many of us would love to link to stories on U-tube, or to fiction or fact.

My personal efforts are for re-permiating our cultures in Christian world-view, and in Christ- which is why the news, and views we support are so utterly vital.

So often- when Christianity is marginalized, or becomes about every spectrum of view- we ignore every atrocity- or vote with our ancestors, and into what seems best for us alone. This is not truly of benefit to us.

I sit and write with my spare time- and not so spare time- in order to create a sort of quiet revolution- from insanity- where we somtimes now are, and often were so forcefully made to act as what we truly understand within that we aren't and shown and encouraged in the wrong or weak solutions to world and local problems- into a culture filled with life, where we have true freedom- to be what we truly are below all the twisting of desires from good into something not quite ours, beyond our false hopes.

We have hope in our sacraments- our signs and pledges- our mysteries, which are more than they are- and truly- happiness is in this below every other thing.

I invite others to join me- start to expect more- from others- and simply tell the truth about reality- and be open to debate on this. If you are Catholic and South African- help mold our culture through the media- which has so far been used so often against our views. Secularism is a tool, crafted for industry, not an end- it should not be a diversion to what is right. Let us not let a treaty between good people be abused by nothingness, nor let our "popular conscience" guide us against what our society- deep below- truly longs for, below all this complacent, sometimes fearful compliance, and these other false influences.

We have been lied to that immorality is saner- we have had many casualties- but know- whenever you enjoy a bad program, or anything evil- this enjoyment isn't yours- your true desires have been foulded, and put under false measures- so as to make you think you desire this fake hope. It is the broken slithers of truth behind this evil- so distorted by falsehood- you truly do desire, above this inferior substitution!

Feel that truth below- perhaps resonate this message of mine- do not be constrained by your culture or your media- rather realize. The limit of what is natural is what is moral, what is just.

With our media- let's promote exiting justice- and true representations of the world. Eventually we all should sicken at the banal sins constantly repeated to manipulate us on television. Let us move beyond the banal and pathetic, and manipulative- let us evolve back into art, and amazement.

Do not take bad workmanship- demand higher standards- I certainly try to. If we don't start demanding a turn around now- with our wallets, and our feet, and our voices- where will our children's children be? Our ancestors, whatever slander has been spread about them- at least weren't at risk of destroying the planet as we are. Further- they waited until marriage- because they had the strength to, and did justice and showed true stories- because they were able to.

yes, many of the past's people were evil, as bad as any today- but let us invoke the spirit of those who were good- let us now refuse the revolution towards what is fake- and start again to show who we are in our work, and in our lives.

Surely- let us promote, not local talent, but moral talent- and in this, let us import this from excellency- something we are as capable of excellent skillfulness as any other people- if we ourselves begin the transformation!

Let us begin with ourselves- by manifesting truth- let us begin by challenging what is neither sane nor moral in our land and all lands.

Pope- treat terror suspects with human dignity

Children's programs- Looking at Nickelodeon

While rival, Disney is famous the world over for being slammed on human, and religious rights issues, Nickelodeon is more focused on providing their product and service.

On Nickelodeon, the channel- one sees- often relative violence in adverts for it, where dinosaurs fight for instance- and on ripping the other up- instead of blood- a logo appears within the second dinosaur- or in the violence of cartoons which replace adverts on the channel- which can be violent- and often show some kind of abuse of characters of other characters, or non-sensical hatred of some characters of others- or banal ideas.

This includes a character in a cartoon dressing as what looks like a tyrannosaurus Rex, and stomping another (I am guessing "bad")character to music.

There are also other cartoons in between or inside of programs where a pencil drawing- hard on its luck constantly has bad things done to it, often with the help of a vindictive other unseen character who draws the scenes. This may give a bad image of the script writer of our life making things "unfair", perhaps- just as the trivialization of violence- or the idea of a character pretending to dance while squashing another character- may cause children to see the idea that one can do wrong with an excuse- so long as it appears one is doing otherwise.

Also- there is much pride- and self-love, and victory dances by characters in these- including a gecko- who is chased every now and then by predators.

Unlike Disney- Nickelodeon, to our knowledge, in its own public capacity- does not have controversial stances we know of on homosexuality, abortion or contraception. This makes them possibly a better alternative- than the constant appearance of men in dresses in Disney programs- as well as the positive portrayal of cross-dressing (A manifestation of Lust, except when for necessity, in Catholic belief systems) in Mulan, where Disney slams Chinese culture in the film, which played on their channel.

In fact- Nickelodeon star - Jamie Lynn Spears- decided to have her child publically instead of an abortion (Creative Minority Report 2007).

As for their programs- their's has a vague, plural spiritualism is Nickelodeon programs- whether the existence of ghosts, who seemingly change like human beings (Danny Phantom), something not from a religious point of view, or the vague Eastern spiritualism of "Avatar".

The appearance of "Catholics", or Catholic characters in Nickelodeon programs appears for instance in materialistic "Gina Fabiani" in Unfabulous- where it is noted by main character- Addie Singer- that Gina always paid attention to her before her (Gina's) new boyfriend arrived, even interrupting confession to talk with her. It also appears in girls from a Catholic school enjoying very much their defeat of the main characters in a science fair. It includes catty banter between the Catholic school girls and main characters. The idea of religion winning is also noted as incorrect, when one of the main characters in this, probably "Addie" answers, "Because they have God on their side", to a question as to why the other school's girls always win, and materialistic Gina answers, that they have matching uniforms- which presents a united front to the judges.

Addie Singer's boyfriend, asks her out at his Jewish ceremony for becoming a man.

Nickelodeon seems generally to attempt to instill morals to a degree in children, it is not Catholic morals- as seen in their portrayal of French kissing outside of marriage- or the looseness with which lies are sometimes dealt with.

Some programs also seem to have a very positive portrayal of violence- however generally there are elements of a "good" and an "evil", of a "right" and a "wrong" inside of these programs- and they often are educational.

The vague spirituality apparent in some of their programs is not a problem as long as a child is adequately schooled in their faith's logical basis, and in the saints-

The sort of morals also in Nickelodeon programs also has it's benefits in reinforcement of what is taught in the house- and in their emphasis on doing the right thing.

Overall- we do advise allowing children to watch Nickelodeon over Disney- but also advise parents to take some time to watch with their children- so as to combat anything they dislike.

Avatar in particular does have an Eatern slant in their portrayal of religion, and in the monk-like uniform of the main character. It shows symbols such as Yen and Yang, and could have elements of dualism- however- with a strong moral background- this show is a good substitute for the utter lack of children's programs on television from a Catholic point of view. It is of benefit for children to have some spiritual emphasis in the media, even if at present we are not gifted with our own programs.

It may be noted that in Rickety Spricket: Showbiz Boy- the main character does dress up as a girl to get a job.


As we have determined to do a search on this network- the following are items of some concern- which do need slight consideration from parents, remember this is simply to ensure you know what dangers we have observed:

While the problems with Nickelodeon as a brand are fewer than at Disney or simply more seldomly reported in this field of media, owners - Viacom have been so often caught out, that we have determined to let you surf through a search of many trusted Catholic sites on the issue

And so- just as with Disney programs and many other elements- there is much danger in media for children- Nickelodeon programs which sometimes we find best- are either acted, or above mentioned- Avatar, Danny Phantom, Unfabulous... we don't of course like the cartoons which appear within all of these programs on their main channel- perhaps watching the same on Mnet's KTV is a better option!

Ultimately- a good forming of conscience, which often is done through literature, or recorded programs- and through prayer and bible reading, and catechism reading time as a family- are vital to child development- and one should trust neither Nickelodeon, Nor Disney- to be baby sitters for their children.

Does one let their child watch Nickelodeon, or choose them above Disney- ultimately- that is left to the parent- we will of course, God-willing hopefully be able to review portions of these and other children's programs for future use

A small danger with program Jake and Josh, is the appearance of the character who plays Josh, as a drug dealer in a film slammed by the Catholic league- after his stint in the well known series.


Ultimately- in the modern era- we often endorse companies with bad histories or parts- This is the way that the system has been set up by giant conglomerates, with largely imported programs to choose from, or products from countries with human rights histories not to be proud of. with children- we need to choose the best of the bad options- or else go to the effort to weed out the best of the entertainment options- always remembering the importance of family on value shaping.

Germany- Vatican calls for end of forceably sterializing gypsies- and for better education of gypsies

Practices by governments, of treating those of an oft marginalized ethnic community- Gypsies like stray dogs- and sterilizing Gypsy women forceably, have been lambasted by the Vatican. Such practices, which as we pointed out about UN, Chinese, American and other efforts at reducing third world birth rates, are Genocide (article 2 section d- UN declaration- c.f. Ireland Archibishop- Watch who you impact -Press release was on markets and the need for social aspects to be viewed by Business, government).

The Vatican has further called for an end to separate "Gypsy Schools", which marginalize the group further. They claim that sterilizing Gypsy women has the horrid impact- to destabilize these ethnic groups' concept of family.

The actual exhortations to governments come from the 6th World Congress for the Pastoral Care of Gypsies's final document, as suggested by the Church, from a meeting in Freising, which is in Germany. The congress took place from the 1st to the 4th of September 2008.

The church is asking Caritas Internationalis and Humanitarian groups to help them identify which gypsy groups have the best chance of using such- so as to issue loans, and monitor these- to such groups. Caritas, well known for their successes, and concept of Justice, not Charity- of their work- is the Umbrella Organization for over 160 Catholic Charities. The Delgates emphasized the need this marginalized community has of a living, universal- caring, Catholic church in their lives, which could help them overcome difficulties with it's firm foundation as a support in their often suffering lives.

Congo- Fighting continues- Caritas asks for 1.5 million dollars in aid- in order to supply non-food aid

"The five-month project will provide household articles such as blankets, hygiene products and cooking equipment to 15,000 families who have lost their homes and possessions in the violence." (Caritas Internationalis 02/10/08), according to Caritas in a media release. Fighting by government and rebels has continued despite a peace treaty. Caritas only mentions that the government had signed this.

They are asking for 1.5 million dollars to help sort out the basic needs of those affected.

India- Genocide against Christians continues unabated

AsiaNews.it reports three more villages being attacked, with dozens more of Christians affected, and the attacking of a protestant church.

The Genocide against Catholics and other Christians in India is thought to be caused by the disruption of these religions of the cast system. The aggressors hide behind Hinduism as their justification for the murders, forced conversions- and damage to property (burning of Christian's possessions), however Hindu leaders publically appose this in India. The international community is still not demanding action, and there are claims of police inaction and negligence by Christians in affected areas.

The actions of these groups should be prevented (article 3 section e) in accordance of these actions seemingly being genocide under article 2, sections a,b,c and e of the United Nation's definition of genocide (Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide(Approved and proposed for signature and ratification or accession by General Assembly resolution 260 A (III) of 9 December 1948 entry into force 12 January 1951, in accordance with article XIII)).

It is the responsibility of the Indian Government to protect its citizen's constitutional and Human Rights, and the duty of peoples around the world to make others aware of this slow genocide.

South Africa still apposes death penalty

It is an initiative that is begun and grows within the humanistic spirit and care for the needs of others, characteristics typical of the Saint Egidio experience. The first “colloquium” on the death penalty took place on November 28, 2005 in Rome and was of great importance in the link between Europe and Africa in coming together to abolish the death penalty and in encouraging all participating nations to do the same. Communist Vietnam- government further insults bishops

The communist government of Vietnam has taken the same path of Zimbabwe- in insulting Catholic bishops for works of the faithful. On state news- the government lambasted efforts to regain church land, particularly an ambassadorial building of the highest permanent diplomatic position in the church.

Vietnamese prime minister- Nguyen Tan Dung claimed that the archbishop of Hanoi had broken laws and the constitution, and damaged Vietnam's reputation- he said the bishops were pleased with relations, and aimed to further aid them. He left out the bishops support of the archbishop, and acted as though this were purely an issue with the Archbishop, whom he called for the disposing of by the Church. Vietnam, like other countries under communism, an ideology labeled as evil by Mother church- continues to clash with Catholics.

Recently mobs of communist youth disrupted a prayer meeting outside of the building- with police securing it with iron barriers, and carrying off church artifacts.

Vietnamese citizens continue to gain a corrupted image of reality from their media organizations- who recently also misquoted church officials before this.

Caritas asks for Cuba aid after hurricane disasters

Caritas is asking for 1 million dollars in aid to use in aiding the Cuban Islanders- after recent hurricanes- the money will be used by Caritas, the Catholic Umbrella Aid organization to " provide food, construction materials and kitchen and hygiene kits to those recovering from the hurricanes which swept over the island in late August and early September. " (Caritas International 01/10/08), this includes aid of "senior citizens and children with learning difficulties, as well as education and training programmes."(Caritas International 01/10/08).

Caritas is known for their moral aid attempts and is likely by far the most effective organization to aid in this work. Many of the affected are Catholics.

Archbishop Diarmuid Martin of Dublin has asked for a business, government and market mentality which not only pursues profit, but focuses on the social impact of decisions. He states that the gambles taken by representatives of large firms, take as a surety- the average person who is affected by bad or good decisions.

If one person digs a whole in the boat, to quote our Jewish Brothers- it affects everyone in the boat.

This is specially applicable in South Africa, where business, and government- often does not focus on the impact they have on the longterm economy or their citizens. A notable impact is efforts at promoting contraception by "Love Life", statistics from America, broadcast by EWTN, and mirrored by observations of the Catholic League for Civil and Religious Rights, show that often contraceptive education, and promotion of contraceptive methods of fighting disease- have been shown to backfire- with disease levels increasing. Case in point South Africa- we have the largest rate of some diseases- despite apparent efforts by government. On facebook recently was an irritating advert- leading to a questionnaire- "World Contraception Day". I wonder if the results of that will be used, and if it will be mentioned that it was advertised in such a way that the religious from groups such as ours would not click on it except accidentally. I also wonder what effect this will have on facebook users- in a country where pre-marital sex is so common- and along with it the consequences.

The Pill, for instance reduces chances of pregnancy (Not that NFP isn't just about as, if not more effective)- it also drastically increases chances of every kind of Sexual Disease. It seems our biggest issue is a societal disease- we answer everything with devices and abortions- rather than attempting to actually trust people to do the better thing.

I await the day when we teach people how to more safely use cocaine- after all, "it's better than if they did it outside the law, and encountered more danger!"

Oddly, when we create such atmospheres about things- it seems we don't really cure the problem- more abortions for one thing occur now that it is legal- than before hand. Democratic Candidate Borak Obama in the US, voted to let survivors of Abortion die if they could make it- while in England- the many of the more legislative pro-abortionists want to allow abortion right until birth.

Oddly those who call themselves pro-choice- often neither respect the choice of the child- nor that of the doctors and nurses forced by "pro-choice" legislation- to go against their choice and conscience, and be excommunicated from the Catholic church, or seemingly to break South African, and other nation's Law!

I wonder if efforts to radically reduce the populations of third world countries can fall under this?

It seems- rather than genocide we call efforts such as this "prudence", or other such things- the truth is- we desire more resources for ourselves- it does not always fit our interests to have larger population- nor do we often seem as a culture- to care if certain conditions are afflicted on others.

Now, we need to consider- is the answer to world population Article 2 section (D), or can we actually allow aid to the undeveloped world, and education about morals to developed and undeveloped world alike- things that seem to work quite well if we look into history. Instead- we choose to inflict on populations a sort of section d option- is it right? I don't know- but in the past it was labled as Genocide- have we had so universal a group of changes to our view on the subject, and can we ignore documentation which is still under enactment?

Perhaps the UN's general laws are interpretable- otherwise we need to stop these campaigns to end such disease, and stop wars, and problems over resources- by section d of the Genocide definition. Can we continue to solve the world's problems, by reducing what the world means?

Holy See- always manifest the Gospel

Yesterday- the Holy Father noted that whatever freedom Christians have- it must never be "Libertinism", he noted that when Saint Peter and Saint Paul disagreed- when Saint Peter would not eat with Gentiles, Saint Paul himself had suggested only eating vegetables to accommodate the weak, but that while one was concerned for the feelings of others- the essence of the Gospel was at risk for the other.

The Holy Father noted we must always live in conformity with Christ.

Catholics, we must note believe of the Law- that one should always act in conformity with truth- so that when the bible abstains us from many, but not all ceremonies of the Old Testament (Acts 15), it does not in the same council permit any action.

God is worshiped in Spirit and Truth- therefore we must worship him in all we do- and in entirety, doing also the external- for he is not only worshiped by our entire inner being ("spirit"), but also in the manifestation of our actions ("truth").

So that every actual sin consists, not only in what God views as insanity- but also in a denial to those watching, and within one's self of truth, and further in the lack of justice due to world and God.

Material sin, also takes the form of such insanity, but of course bears not guilt so far as it is unintentional.

A Conservative, and traditionalist- "Episcopal"(Anglican) diocese in Texas is preparing to allow large groups within to in a structured manner- enter the Catholic church.

Ironically this is with their Bishop's approval, and more so is that some think this odd, and are quoted as though this weren't an obvious denial, or transfer of their stated faith.

A notation by inter-religious institute "First Things", recently stated that many conservative Protestants feel they have more in common with Conservative Catholics than with their own religion, so perhaps they believe the most Anglican thing to be is Catholic at a stage when the Anglicans further alter what they once believed true.

Just under a century ago- the Anglicans ("Lambeth Conference") were apparently the first church to permit contraception.

Anglicans have always stated they are "Reformed Catholics", but mostly this is said as though they had found better pastures- this particular church group is one vote away from a sort of incorporation into Mother Church, we wish them good luck and God speed in this!

Now everything I say here is based on what I read at Creative Minority report, and personal views, I am not a quantum physicist, so I don't really know!

Another oddity in science, yes I love the word oddity, but it is a good word to describe things we don't think should be as they are- and I don't think this should be as it is.

It's called the "Copernican principle", or as Creative Minority Report notes- The "We're not special principle". It's a principle that often plays out in movies- when the good looking chap looks at the lady, or where a High School Musical scene emerges- not that we don't disagree with Disney's views on religion, and abortion, but the point is- when something says you're special- mankind says fairytale. Now, I by no means support creationism- the idea sounds more like Evangelical Fundamentalism's apologetics, PR department than science, but I do find it odd that we should have such a principle. Another principle is that the most likely, simple solution to a problem probably is the solution- but to me that sounds like guesswork. We believe, and I adhere to the idea that all we have came from the big bang. An Evangelical Fundamentalist I disagree with heavily states- "Nothing Exploded" as if it disproved this wondrous science, and I think- yes- is not the big bang the ultimate proof of God- that nothing should become everything- surely- Nothing must have been altered by Reality- surely- Reality must have made the universe out of nothing. I have actually converted someone to Christianity on the spot, by discussing my belief in the Big Bang- because this mystery has to lead to God.

Now back to the concept discussed by Matthew Archbold, over at Creative Minority Report-

There is a theory that the Earth is located in a low cosmic pressure zone, which apparently could explain all these anomolies about time seeming to alter, or things going faster than the speed of light- now I am the first person to decry creationism- but if this is the simplest solution, and could answer the question, and I am no expert at science- then why should we exclude it as possible based purely on the fact that it makes the earth slightly different. Of course we are different- how else could evolution have occured, we as a planet with life have to be different from ones which have none. Of course, Matthew may be wrong, and we may not have the entire picture- but if the Cinderella shoe fits, why not cautiously investigate if it really is so?

Of course- I do not endorse such a theory myself- but really- I am fascinated by this other "Copernican principle", if it really exists, please someone send me more on it- yes, we must be cautious when the cosmic good looking girl science waves at us, and check before waving back, but if this is true- then its sad not to wave simply to avoid embarrassment. In Fact, I'd even rather wave if she wasn't waving at me, after all- it doesn't need to be releasing anything- but investigating it may lead onto another theory, and waving at girls at least gets their attention!

Google further apposes religion!

Sadly- Google, who had tried to ban anti-abortion ads on abortion searches, and still have those revolting anti-Catholic ads- which are actually against our rights in South Africa-

has done it again-

They are saying they are in favor as an organization- of Gay Marriage in California.

Sadly- such comments create such hostile environments- not only to Catholics still working at Google- but also to the truth itself- enshrined in our Faith, and in all but the most liberal dictionaries.

Marriage is a relationship between a man and a woman, not a man and a dog, or lizard, or corpse, or man? No, that is simply a relationship. Sadly- we see more persecution of truth by those lying about giving choice- choice must always be subject to reason!

Congo- Missionaries call for backlash against Kivu Rebels- say no ligitimacy in treating them equally with governemt

Agenzia Fides reports that a group of Christian Missionaries (“Congo Peace Network”(Agenzia Fides 29/09/08)) are questioning UN policy of putting government and the Rebel group CNDP of Kivu on the same playing field.

They claim that a Rebel group known for their violent actions- cannot share the same position as a democratically elected government with a popular referendum's constitution. This comes as fighting intensifies.

The leader of the Kivu rebels, Nkunda, continues to be gifted by authorities, with - freedom of movement. This is despite his organization's human rights abuses being decried by secular humanitarian group Amnesty International. Nkunda enjoys protection from the Congo's government from these treaties, making irrelevant- having an arrest warrant pending- for many crimes including extortion. The Rebel group, which profits from illegal mining is also known for recent kidnappings, to further replenish stocks of child soldiers.

The Missionaries consider it dangerous to give such legitimacy to the Rebels, and desire for the UN to act against these. They say that peace treaties organized, have turned out to give a sort of amnesty to these aggressors, who are profiting from the situation.

Despite treaties, the fighting has continued, and the international community seems still to refuse to take sides.

Vatican- politics worthless without Christ- Christ must feature in voting

Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, Vatican secretary of state yesterday stated that secularism, which is in his opinion void of values, politics, and all such things must only be means by which the values of God are implemented within the world, stating that without Christ- states quickly learn to ignore the greater good.

He identified the recent financial crisis, the "credit crunch" in the developed would as evidence of what happens when societies aim for the short-term above what is beneficial over the long term.

Some sources claim that the recent crisis would have been entirely avoided if a 1992 bill sponsored by political presidential candidate- McCain had been successful- the entire financial crisis in America would not have occured.

Catholic Culture reports- that in announcing their theme for "World Day Of Social Communications"(Sunday 31 May 2009)(Vatican Information Service 30/09/08)- the Vatican emphasizes building relationships, dialog and friendship.

Archbishop Claudio Maria Celli, president of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, is the source of these words, and pointed out that the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, believes media can create the atmospheres that create dialog and trust.

Rome- Synod to focus on bible

In light of the coming synod on the Bible, the Southern Cross- is emphasizing the role of the bible in the church. What is not mentioned in their article- is that one of the Oldest popular Catholic bibles- the Douay Rheims- was published before the King James version, or that many of the so-called bible translators- were killed not for translating- something common at the time- but rather for heresy, schism, opposition to church and state- and a revolting appetite for mocking Catholic practice. They were of course killed according to the biblical principal that Aquinas emphasizes- that when acting for justice- and as just authority- a just authority- and not an average citizen- for the good of the nation's people- in Catholic morality has the right to rid the nation of such a citizen (c.f. Augustine- Just War).

Certain anti-Catholic groups may particularly focus on people such as Wycliff- whose translation was so bad- that the Catholic church had him killed. Wycliff was also a heretic- who certainly was not a modern Protestant in belief, or Tyndale- whose bible was such a purposeful mistranslation- to support Martin Luther, and whose footnotes were so anti-Catholic- that not only did Henry the 8th appose him as a heretic, before and after his split with the church, but he was eventually arrested by the secular "Holy Roman Empire"'s representatives and killed- at a time when the church had a waning influence in England (This Rock Magazine 2002;).

In fact- for all the bible martyrs fronted by those apposing the views of the church- there is a similar story.

To be in any real hatred of the Catholic church- one often must discount reason and history!

Another appearance of Catholic disrespect from the bible came about when the American government made the King James Version compulsory in schools- forcing Catholics of the time to veto these classes out of obedience to their bishops.
