DA slams Christians, South Africa's Cultural diversity: I will not be voting for the DA next election

(Scripturelink Catholic Voter's Guide and Politics)

Article by Marc Aupiais

I am leaving the DA, which has set its sights on promotion not of national democracy, but a form of tyranny all too familiar: intolerance of anyone not tolerant of every little bit of disgusting ideology sprouted by uneducated Democratic Alliance leaders. I do consider myself intolerant: allergic perhaps, or having a good immune system. I am intolerant to that which harms me and society, that is the very definition of intolerance.

(Note this article contains a sexually suggestive picture, that is, a picture released by the DA of a DA political recruitment poster!)

Reading not only the DASO recruitment poster's and their justification of its insensitive "Better than you" garbage, which is insulting, and dangerous, may offend deeply, but, if you found that insulting: just wait to read their justification

promoting homosexuality, forcing anti-religious grouping promotion of inter-religion sexual relationships, and intolerance of anyone who for cultural reasons object to these, make the DA response to sensitivities something about which any true liberal or democrat or Christian, and in fact all should worry. Deeply. Never mind the assumption that religious people are deeply bigoted, or to use the insinuation, stupid and slow.

Never mind the insulting lust not love Pope Kissing an Imam type of ideology, in this advert campaign.

(See their statement released justifying the poster below)

DA Attempt at forcing promiscuous fitness shallow and anti-Christian, anti-Cultural freedoms society on South Africa
Photoshop-ed ad campaign portraying the pope and an Imam in a sexual and sexually suggestive act! The Vatican threatened legal action.

I frankly found the DA's moralizing through tyranny,

and use of an image of two people having sex, to market their organization to universities,

to be disturbing and evil. Certainly inappropriate in a time of HIV/AIDS. I am embarrassed that I was once Deputy Chair of DASo at the University of the Witwatersrand.

Fact is, the government has no right to tell people or societies WHO TO MARRY, and to encourage people to have casual sex with a poster that looks like it is advertising a condom. Racism that hurts the economy must go, but race and culture are rights enshrined deeply in the South African constitution. Including the right to like or not like someone based on hair, race, anything else. There is a market difference between valid government and use of political funding, and attempts of Nazi style societal engineering, which is sure to disenfranchise children, the religious, and those most vulnerable.

This is the last straw for me: from a DA, which has decided that instead of letting society make its own future, it now has decided to want to impose a Napoleonic tyranny on South Africa. And as the inadequate response to shocking statements made by the DA criticising the ANC at the UN has proven time and again, they want this tyranny not only in South Africa, but forced upon all in this world. A tyranny intolerant to any Christian intolerance. A tyranny where anything but virtues and morals are tolerated, and conscientious objection is persecuted and hunted down to be destroyed. A society of utter intolerance: intolerant as a Physical Exercise teacher to a child with a muscle disease, or a camp Councillor to a child allergic to camp food.

A "Society where Intolerance in not Tolerated", but intolerance to what? To the DA controlling everyone and everything is what this is about. Intolerance to casual sex? Intolerance to propaganda? Intolerance to being told what does or does not insult you?

To a party which hopes to enslave all of South Africa to one culture, that of the Cape Flats, where the DA clearly hopes to gain its votes next election. After all, abortion, gay partnerships, the destruction of white (British, Dutch, German, Irish, French, Swiss, Etc) and black (Zulu, Khosa, so many cultures) cultures for one where immorality is accepted and heritage ignored and forgotten seem to be all the DA can promote of late. Besides jumping on every press bandwagon.

I am glad to have resigned as an official in the DASO, when they first considered betraying voters and allying with the extremist anti-Christian : Independent Democrats. I will hopefully not be voting for such an anti-Christian, anti-South African party next election. After all, they have clearly made their enemy the listener, and branded ALL South Africans Intolerant and bigoted racists!

Shame on you Helen Zille, you truly have betrayed the Democratic Alliance.

Let me make ONE THING Clear! I want to live in a future where people look twice, look three times, look and look again.

NOT YOUR MINDLESS FUTURE OF THOUGHT CONTROL!

Losing an Election after pro-lifers attack her as not pro-life, new Komen Vice President defunds abortionists Planned Parenthood of cancer charity funds, due to federal investigation of the abortionists (under Komen policies)

Editorial: its important to remember that Komen's reason was their existent policies, and that the Vice President lost an election for not being pro-life enough for pro-life Georgia: Georgia Right to Life which supported ALL her competitors for GOP primaries there and then. But if her beliefs played a role in defunding Planned Parenthood, the choice to do so may still stand after the federal investigation ends!

Anti-Christian Islamist Boko Haram Spokesman allegedly arrested!

Anti-Christian Islamist Boko Haram Spokesman allegedly arrested!
Official sources won't admit the arrest, and it seems they want to make sure they have the right suspect (unlike American approach). AFP bases their article on their secret sources, which frankly are likely to be telling the truth, AFP is good at their job

Editorial Annotation: Hopefully this is accurate, it will be interesting if and only if he is prosecuted in a country where Sharia Law and Islamists hold a lot of sway!

"Nigeria arrests suspected Boko Haram spokesman: sources
By Aminu Abubakar (AFP) – 13 hours ago

KANO, Nigeria — Nigerian authorities have arrested a man believed to be a spokesman for Islamist group Boko Haram, which has claimed responsibility for scores of deadly attacks, security sources said Wednesday.

Two security sources said on condition of anonymity that a person suspected to be the man who goes by the alias Abul Qaqa had been arrested.

A third security source said officers were still trying to ascertain his identity, while secret police spokeswoman Marilyn Ogar said she could not confirm the arrest.

"We made a big success with the arrest of the Boko Haram spokesman that goes by the name Abul Qaqa," a secret police source told AFP.

A senior police source said he had "received information of the arrest of the Boko Haram spokesman ... He has been held for questioning."

A third security source said "agents want to be sure that it is actually the spokesman of Boko Haram. They are still trying to ascertain that."

The man who goes by the name Abul Qaqa has claimed to speak on behalf of Boko Haram on numerous occasions, including to claim responsibility for scores of attacks in Nigeria, Africa's most populous nation and largest oil producer.

Its most deadly attack to date occurred in Nigeria's second city of Kano on January 20, when coordinated bombings and shootings killed at least 185 people. A man calling himself Abul Qaqa claimed that attack on behalf of Boko Haram.
The purported spokesman has regularly held phone conferences with journalists in the northeastern city of Maiduguri, Boko Haram's base.

Differing versions of the arrest emerged, with one source saying he had been detained in the northern city of Kaduna early Wednesday and others saying it occurred in a raid in Maiduguri on Tuesday.

The secret police source said "he was tracked down using state of the art tracking equipment. He is now in custody undergoing interrogation."

Ogar, spokeswoman for the secret police, could not confirm any arrest.

"When you have an ongoing operation, a lot of people are brought in, and until you are able to put a face to a name ...," nothing can be confirmed, Ogar said. "My office has not confirmed to me that they have him."

Boko Haram has carried out increasingly sophisticated attacks, mostly in Nigeria's north, that have left hundreds of people dead.

The spiralling violence has sparked deep concern in the international community and shaken the country, whose 160 million population is roughly divided between a mainly Muslim north and predominantly Christian south.
There has been intense speculation over whether Boko Haram has formed links with outside extremist groups, including Al-Qaeda's north African branch."

Washington State betrays Christian voters, enacting "Gay Marriage" in Senate, soon to be endorsed by house of representatives

Washington State betrays Christian voters, enacting "Gay Marriage" in Senate, soon to be endorsed by house of representatives
Microsoft, Amazon, Starbucks and other corporations, support the measure, in a country where the line between business and politics in itself is all but non-existent

"Opponents point out that voters have yet to approve gay marriage in any state referendum and have in some instances overturned same-sex marriage laws enacted by legislators or the courts. Gay marriage remains outlawed in more than 40 of the 50 U.S. states.

Oregon voters passed a law upholding traditional marriage in 2004, voiding same-sex weddings that some counties had performed earlier that year. California voters in 2008 approved a state constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. That measure is under challenge in federal court.

Several prominent Washington-based companies employing tens of thousands of workers, including Microsoft, Amazon and Starbucks, have endorsed Washington's legislation.
On the other side, the state's Roman Catholic bishops and other religious conservatives are amassing thousands of Washington residents against the legislation, including voters who supported the state's expansion of domestic-partnership benefits in recent years but draw the line at gay marriage."

Note the bigotry against Christians spurted by false Christian Democrats:

"The stage was set for Wednesday's action after Washington state senate sponsors of the bill said last week they had secured the 25-vote minimum needed in the 49-seat chamber for approval there. Four Republicans ended up joining 24 Democrats in supporting it.

An emotional written statement released shortly before the Senate convened on Wednesday from one of the bill's 11th-hour supporters, Democratic Senator Brian Hatfield, expressed the personal conflict he and other lawmakers felt in backing the measure, which he said contradicted his Christian beliefs.
"Regardless of how I choose to vote on the issue of marriage equality, I will alienate myself from friends and neighbors that I have known for years," he wrote."

Girl denied vital kidney transplant for mental slowness

Girl denied vital kidney transplant for mental slowness
After massive online campaign (Children's Hospital of Philadelphia) Philly children's hospital said to be reconsidering

Editorial: given its use as a justification for euthanasia and euthanasiac abortion, mental slowness or inconsistency is often treated as belonging to a sub-class of human being

"According to the parents, a physician told them Jan. 10 that the hospital would not perform a transplant because of the girl's mental disability.

Amelia, whose condition is called Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome, became the focus of national attention after her mother wrote of the initial rejection in a blog post. As of Monday evening, there were 37,000 signatures on a petition at change.org urging the hospital to change its initial decision.

On Monday, hospital officials said they could not comment on the case, citing patient confidentiality rules. The hospital has said it does not make decisions on whether to do a transplant based on a patient's intellectual ability.

Chrissy Rivera said her daughter's chart initially had the words mental retardation listed as a reason not to perform a transplant, and that those words had been removed. She said Amelia's case must now be further reviewed by specialists to determine whether she is a good candidate.

"If there's a medical reason" that a transplant would be a bad idea, she said, "of course we're not going to do it."

She said the family had health insurance but declined to be specific.

The cost of a kidney transplant can exceed $100,000, but in the long run is cheaper than dialysis, according to the American Society of Transplantation.

Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome, caused by a missing piece of the fourth chromosome, results in cognitive delays and other developmental symptoms. It is estimated to occur in one out of 50,000 children, said geneticist John C. Carey, professor of pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine.

Roughly 20 percent of children with the condition die in the first year or two, but once past that hurdle, they often live for decades, said Carey, who treats patients with the syndrome. One of his patients is 62, he said.

About 30 percent of children with the syndrome have some degree of kidney trouble, and maybe a third of them end up needing dialysis or a transplant, he said.

Carey said he was not aware of any patients who had received a transplant but said if one were to take place, a potential issue is that most such children also suffer from seizures and take anti-convulsant medicines. Amelia is among them, according to the family's blog posts.

Anti-seizure medicine can speed up the metabolism, making it harder to calculate the right dose of the immune-suppressing drugs that must be taken to prevent rejection of a transplanted organ, Carey said.

"To me, that just presents a bigger challenge," he said. "That doesn't present a reason not to do the transplant." "

South Africa recalls 1.35 million condoms given out at the African National Congress party's centenary celebrations
"some broke during intercourse and others were porous"

http://www.foxnews.com/health/2012/01/31/south-africa-recalls-135-million-condoms/

Editorial view: ANC clearly wants the DA to win election, what with killing off their own most loyal supports. Big fiasco!.

To Quote the Associated Press on the Fiasco, and the fact the government is not warning people as they ought to but is bungling the recall also!

Quoting an authority from NGO, the TAC:

"He noted that all the condoms were stamped to indicate that they were in batches that had been quality tested by the South African Bureau of Standards, which is responsible for ensuring they meet the standards of the World Health Organization. Bureau spokeswoman Verna Schutte confirmed that they were investigating the condoms.

The AIDS activist, Mokhalipi, said the recall was limited to department workers going to the hotels, guesthouses and bars where they had deposited the condoms and reclaiming any that remained.

He complained that the health department had not issued countrywide warnings to alert people not to use condoms distributed during the celebrations in Bloemfontein. "People came from all over and probably took many away with them, so those condoms are now all over the country," he said.

Those who had used condoms that allegedly had burst should be told to get post-exposure tests and treatment, he said.

"We want the department to go out and tell people about these faulty condoms," Mokhalipi said. "How can they say people should not panic if there are still clearly people out there in possession of these condoms. "

South Africa's government sources its condoms from several companies and rebrands them with its colorful CHOICE packaging, in bright blue, red, yellow and green. The government distributed more than 400 million free condoms in 2010."
-Fox News

Dr. Edward Greene, the former director of the AIDS research project at Harvard University, said in a Vatican Radio interview about the African AIDS epidemic last June that in populations where HIV is not restricted to prostitutes but is found in the general population, condoms are counterproductive. “Condoms have never been found to be used consistently in any general population .”

“ We now know that having multiple concurrent sexual partners is what drives the so-called hyper epidemics of southern and east Africa. So, discouraging multiple concurrent partners is the single most important intervention on behavior change that will bring down HIV rates,” Dr. Greene said .
“ Condoms have not proven to work very well,” he concluded."
-LifeSiteNews http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/south-african-condom-failures-result-in-massive-recall

"AIDS activist Sello Mokhalipi of the Treatment Action Campaign said he complained after "we had people flocking in, coming to report that the condoms had burst while they were having sex."
...

In 2007, the government had to recall more than 20 million defective condoms manufactured locally. Media reports said a testing manager at the South African Bureau of Standards had taken a bribe to certify the faulty condoms. In 2008 another 5 million defective condoms were recalled.
...

The latest allegations involve condoms distributed to hotels and bars in the central city of Bloemfontein, where tens of thousands of people traveled from all over the country for the ANC celebrations. South Africa has the world's highest number of AIDS victims at 5.6 million.

Mokhalipi said the complaints started coming in Jan. 11, prompting his office to run tests on some of the allegedly flawed condoms.

"We poured water into the condoms and they were leaking, not just in one place, they were leaking like a sieve," he said. Looking at them, "you can see there are small pores."

_He said the health department had distributed a new batch of condoms last week, which did not leak under the water test.
Health department spokesman Mbalula said pouring water into a condom and applying pressure was not a proper test, though Mokhalipi denied applying pressure._

Mbalula said his department recalled the contraceptives to conduct scientific tests. He did not know when the results of the tests would be available."

In "attempt at political correctness", Wycliff, and other bible companies purposely mistranslated Arabic bibles

Editorial view: Not acceptable, this is imperialism. And it does not imply that in Arabic, which may justify a different translation if there were not such thing as footnotes. Even if it did which it did not, a simple footnote would suffice. Any baptism in the name of the guardian, the representative and whatever * really means nothing. Further, Muslims, are upset in some countries over the use of Allah as God's name, this will worsen it. People have suffered attacks for use of the word Allah for the Catholic God.

Father means origin, guardian, carer, owner/curator. Son means likeness but also obedience, and a perfection, a result of the Origin. Holy Spirit is the living resonance between them! This matters. And this is lost!

Truly sad!

Scotland Independence and the money issue

Marc Aupiais  -  31 Jan 2012  -  Public
Scotland Independence and the money issue

Salmond's stance that they will keep the pound (regulated by the Bank of England) , the BBC argues will hurt or make untenable true Scottish independence. The BBC is an arm of the British Government which has stated its opposition to Scottish Independence:

BBC: "In Bhutan, where they measure the high altitude economy by its human wellbeing count, money is exchanged in Indian rupees. Lichtenstein uses the Swiss franc (Well, you would, wouldn't you?). And South Africa's rand is used in neighbouring Namibia, Lesotho and Swaziland.

These tend to be very small countries, looking to - or dominated by - much bigger neighbours. Outside the eurozone, it's hard to find a parallel to a significantly-sized, developed, trading nation like Scotland, other than the currency alliance between Singapore and Brunei.

Inside the eurozone, it's hard to find anyone who thinks the currency alliance is working well, at least so long as its members insist on the autonomy they've enjoyed over the past decade.
So just how normal do currency unions look now, or for a country looking to gain its independence?"

AFP: "The strike was "well followed" in Mbuji-Mayi, the capital of central Kasai-Oriental province, said Jean-Alexis Kasuasua, the head of a regional civic society grouping.

"Shops were closed and traffic was less hectic than normal with many people walking on the roads," he said.

In Kananga, the capital of the neighbouring Kasai-Occidental province, several schools and public institutions were closed but shopkeepers opened for business in the afternoon, another civil society group said.
But Kinshasa was its normal bustling self with the public transport system unaffected, AFP journalists said.

"If we strike, what will we eat? We Congolese survive from day to day, to strike would kill us," said Marie, an onion seller.
Tshisekedi, 79, has proclaimed himself president-elect, after rejecting the results of the November 28 election which returned Joseph Kabila to power. Kabila has been at the helm since January 2001.

Foreign and Congolese observer teams have also reported irregularities, along with the Congolese Roman Catholic Church.

Tshisekedi on Friday announced a "general strike across the national territory until further notice," to start this week.

The opposition leader called on Congolese troops to arrest Kabila "wherever he may be and bring him to me alive and tied-up so that we can prosecute him for the crimes he committed on Congolese soil."
Tshisekedi on January 20 announced he would take office that day. On Sunday, police prevented him from leaving his home and on subsequent days have stopped his aides from going in and talking to him."

Forced Insurance: Also covers abortion -- such as the morning after pill--, forcing Catholics to pay for it, never mind the fact the Amish were given exception from it, and don't have to buy the insurance!

"Reuters) - U.S. Catholic bishops and priests across the country read out letters at Mass on Sunday protesting plans by President Barack Obama's administration to force religiously-affiliated nonprofit groups to offer birth-control coverage to women employees.

On Jan 20, the Obama administration made final a proposal requiring most employer-sponsored health plans to offer women contraceptive services including sterilization without copays, co-insurance or deductibles.

Religious authorities including the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops condemned the rule as a violation of religious conscience and the constitutional right to religious freedom.

In an organized protest, numerous local media reported on Sunday that Catholic clergy read out letters of protest Mass.

"We cannot, we will not, comply with this unjust law," wrote Phoenix bishop Thomas J. Olmsted in one such letter, adding that the rule was an attack on religious freedoms enshrined in the U.S. Constitution.

"Our parents and grandparents did not come to these shores to help build (America) ... or to have the posterity stripped of their God given rights," he added.

The rule changes ordered by the administration were welcomed

by birth control advocates including the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

The government's decision does not apply to churches, synagogues, mosques, temples and some religiously-affiliated elementary and secondary schools, which remain exempt.
But it came as a blow to religious officials who pushed hard for a broader exemption that would have included religious organizations whose main purpose is not to provide religious services for their members. These include institutions such as Catholic-affiliated hospitals."

Benedict XVI, God's Rottweiler looks at simple destiny, and says simply enough, that we influence the collective destiny and it makes our own fate for us. How people act, each of us, like butterfly wings, causes the hurricane that is the ends and starts that are human life!

Or as the Pope's news service puts it:

INDIVIDUAL DESTINY IS LINKED TO COLLECTIVE DESTINY

VATICAN CITY, 12 JAN 2012 (VIS) - "The challenges we are currently facing are numerous and complex, and can be overcome only if we reinforce our awareness that the destiny of each of us is linked to that of everyone else. For this reason ... acceptance, solidarity and legality are fundamental values". With these words the Holy Father welcomed the authorities of the City of Rome, the Region of Lazio, and the Province of Rome, whom he received this morning in a traditional annual meeting for the exchange of New Year greetings.

The Pope went on: "The present crisis can, then, be an opportunity for the entire community to verify whether the values upon which social life is founded have generated a society that is just, fair and united, or whether it is necessary to undertake a profound rethink in order to rediscover values which ... not only favour economic recovery, but which are also attentive to promoting the integral good of human beings".

Benedict XVI expressed the view that the roots of the current crisis lie in "individualism which clouds the interpersonal dimension of man and leads him to close himself into his own little world, concerned first and foremost with satisfying his own needs and desires with scant concern for others". The consequences of such a mentality are "speculation in housing, increasing difficulty for young people to enter the world of work, the solitude suffered by so many elderly, the anonymity which often characterises urban life, and the sometimes superficial attention paid to situations of marginalisation and poverty".

The first step towards creating a more human society is "to rediscover relationships as the constituent element of our lives". Man is called to live in relation with other people and with God, Who alone "is capable of welcoming man unconditionally and of giving him infinite love".

Institutions must foment and increase the awareness that we all form part of the same structure, encouraging values of acceptance, solidarity and legality, said the Pope highlighting the work of Christian organisations which welcome people who have abandoned their own countries due to poverty or violence. He invited his audience to develop ways to integrate people into the social fabric, so that "individuals may learn to consider the place in which they reside as a 'common home', in which to live and for which to care".

Acceptance must be accompanied by solidarity, because "charity and justice require that, in times of need, those with the greatest resources should look after the disadvantaged". Benedict XVI insisted that institutions must give particular support to families, especially large families, in which context he invited the authorities "to defend the family founded on marriage as an essential cell of society". They must also show solidarity towards young people, "who are most penalised by the lack of work, ... implementing policies which ensure fairly priced accommodation and which help to guarantee employment", so as to avoid the risk that young people "fall victim to criminal organisations offering easy takings".

Finally, the Pope turned his attention to the need "to promote a culture of legality, helping citizens to understand that law exists to channel the many positive energies that exist in society, and thus to promote the common good. ... Institutions have the task ... of issuing just and fair provisions, also taking account of the law which God inscribed in man's heart, and which everyone can understand through reason".

How to defraud an electorate and the Republican front runners

Article by Marc Aupiais

Primaries- where presidents are made, before they are made. The Republican primary voters are facing a dilemma. Vote for the best candidate, or vote for the one you think Democrats and non-republicans may vote for.

The Republican primaries are being strongly fought- between Mitt Romney, controversially more Democrat than Republican, and a mormon (still demonised in mainstream American society), and his opponent: aka every other candidate. The Democrat media all say that Mitt could beat out Obama, by making the election a referendum on Obama. The other candidates would have to fight based on their actual policies, which shockingly are Republican.

The fact that Romney and the other candidates keep competing strongly, with one or other often polling much stronger than him. The sudden low turnouts at rallies he attends, and other factors, hint at a different equation.

Romney, seems to be so UN-Republican, rather than a made to fit candidate, that Mormon, not so pro-life, not so pro-marriage Romney, seems to have both angered and alienated the Republican base, and Tea Party grassroots.

It is rare if ever that someone is elected purely because they aren't someone else. Generally voters just don't appear at stations.

Republicans who want the election handed to them on Obama's unpopularity, have a distinct problem. If they don't have a candidate who is not only slightly different than Obama, but who is independently someone who inspires their own grassroots, they will land up having to run a likely disastrous and meek anti-Obama campaign, replacing the epic evil dictator with another evil dictator- that is- like with like.

Its much easier to win on a positive campaign than a negative one.

Its sort of cheating really, voting not for who you support but who you think can hand you an election. The sort of cheating which backfires, so alien to Democracy is it. Its not even Republican anymore. The only party that can save America right now: through austerity and good social; economic policies! Not Obama's closed minded denialism!

Cardinal Foley: a likeable, effeminate, Christmas loving but slightly incompetent man?

Article by Marc Aupiais

Cardinal Foley was the Christmas commentator for years: for the American English church. He was appointed by Pope Benedict XVI as head of the order of the Holy Sepulchre. That is: of getting charity for the Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East.

He is described as leaving thank you notes and making constant communication with friends and colleagues. They remember his jokes, and his ignoring of his cancer. His support of Salt and Light Television, his sentimentality and softness of person. His support for sometimes very politicised propaganda by Catholic News Service. His never bad mouthing a soul- allegedly.

Chaput notes his charismatic ability and that those who loved and cherished him and respected him: he hopes will be consoled. The Pope gave similar words.

Oddly lacking in all accounts is any claim that the man was even slightly effective as Head of the Social Communications department of the Vatican.

From the moment he retired there, news quality has gone considerably up.

The Cardinal died in Philadelphia.

Zuma considering usurping other branches of government- shadow minister claims to our Service

Article by Marc Aupiais

The Deputy Shadow Minister of Transport has written to the Editor of the SACNS, as has been his habit for a long time, requesting that the following view be noted. We do not take sides in political matters at present although the Scripturelink Vote Service will when the next election occurs. The claims of the DA and their representatives while highly interesting are their own.

Letter:

"Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor,

The Simelane ruling highlights the Zumafication of government

Earlier this month the Democratic Alliance was victorious in defending our Constitution. The Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) found in the DA's favour that the appointment of Menzi Simelane as National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP) in November 2009 was unconstitutional and as a result invalid. Judge Mohamed Navsa in the delivery of a unanimous decision emphasised the fact that the legislative and executive arms of government are not above the law. Judge Navsa reminded the government that it cannot ignore, defy or subvert the Concourt.

However Zuma and his government simply do not understand this. They also do not understand our Constitution. This is evident when Zuma was being questioned during a Parliamentary session recently, he said the following; "The powers conferred on the courts cannot be superior to the powers resulting from the political and consequently administrative mandate resulting from popular democratic elections."  In other words Zuma's understanding is that once a party is elected it can govern like a dictatorship presumably until the next elections when it should be able to do so until the following elections.

This scary scenario is further reinforced as more of the ANC leadership demonstrate their ignorance of how our democracy was carved out and how it should work. ANC secretary-general Gwede Mantashe is quoted in the media as saying, "you can't have a judiciary that seeks to arrest the functioning of government" describing the Constitutional Court as a consolidation of opposition to government.

The ANC is simply ignoring the principles of separation of the powers and arms of government, especially the assurance that no government could impose their will unchecked. Again, this statement is supported by the fact that the cabinet will be appointing a research institute to review the Constitutional Court's decisions.

Almost weekly we see how President Zuma is running the country- by constructing the "Zumafication" of South Africa. An example of this is the fact that Zuma ignored concerns raised about Simelane's character during the Ginwala Commission of Inquiry into whether the then NDPP Vusi Pikoli was fit to hold office. In truth Simelane gave misleading evidence to the Ginwale Inquiry into the fitness for office of his predecessor, Vusi Pikoli.

This ruling has opened an even bigger can of worms; it is clear that the Minister of Justice, Jeff Radebe, who was supposed to have advised Zuma on Simelane's fitness for office, is loyal to President Zuma and not the Constitution. We can be sure that Radebe will continue to serve on Zuma's cabinet as it suits his plan perfectly.

Zuma's mission is simple: to "Zumafy" state institutions so that they shield and protect the President and his network from being accountable to the law for any illegal actions he may have committed.

The President is however left with a dilemma; who must he appoint as the National Director of Public Prosecutions. He needs to apply his mind this time round. If he doesn't then the potential is there that this could escalate into a constitutional crisis. For once, Zuma needs to follow the interests of the country and not himself. I somehow doubt it though.

Kind regards,

Sorry

Wrote on wrong Blog by accident!

Was meant to go on my diary Blog!

Sorry again!

A magazine

Diary

Sometimes I feel a bit lonely. Today I certainly did. I noticed one of a female relative's magazines. I'd cleared it with everything else downstairs. Shape.

I simply looked through at the pictures of smiling women. Oddly pacifying!

Chicken Stir fri! With lotsa chicken

Diary

So, last night, I help make chicken stir fry. Really it was half chicken stirred and half anything else fried.

I enjoyed cooking. Especially as I didn't have mom's guidance. Was a bit like swimming alone in a lake for the first time.

Possible tan! Dunno

Diary

So, today... Was a day. A day to go down to the beautiful enclave of that cove we discovered on Monday.

Mostly some teenaged girls were bathing in the tepid Indian Ocean waves. I sat, then lay with my Oakleys sunglasses on, and tons of SPF 30. Finally, when the girls near the ocean calmed down, I went for a splash at the waves myself.

Was 30 degrees today (86 F)- so hectic heat.

I enjoyed the waves, at the height. It was almost midday. One to 7. One to seven. Intensity heightening like tension. Ebbing slowly away.

And hour in the surf, spray and sunspray. I hope I got a tan.

Today is my last day of Holiday in Margate. On Thursday we leave at 5 a.m. Then off to Kruger soon.

Is South African "invasion" of Nigeria illegal?

Article

The Johannesburg Star: headlines with the diplomatic storm, after heavily armed South African police tries to storm the Nigerian Consulate.

The Nigerian officials were accused of stealing the passports of 68 South African citizens after they allegedly refused to pay a bribe. Invasion of a diplomatic station is a serious crime in International law. Nicaragua v USA, is one case where the sovereignty issue was shown costly for a violator of it. Peru v Venezuela, at the ICJ also, however showed that the laws of sovereignty and embassies are limited and complex.

The invasion of "Nigeria" by police, doesn't rank near South Africa holding alleged Rwanda Genocide criminals. That is, diplomatically.

But, the taking of nearly 4 score South African's passports away, is a very serious matter also. Passports are property of the state. Passports are part of citizenship, a constitutional right.

Nigeria swiftly handed back the 68 South Africans' passports, and denied travel visas. Their staff, want the responsible parties for the "invasion" taken to task.

Precedent would say sovereignty is one of the strongest factors in any diplomatic activity. The South African constitution does not allow for the nation to go to war offensively.

The question, if this lands in the ICJ, is this: is the alleged human rights abuse of 68 members of one country by another: adequate justification for violating territory to "rescue" them. Especially, given the fact that Al Qaeda flies on South African passports.

Abstain. World Aids day

Article

As the world powers cut back in funding for HIV/AIDS: endangering lives: one method is still very cheap. The oldest method.

Abstinence.

Remember this. And that the organization which treats more than any other: of the ill who suffer with this virus, patients of all creeds: is the Catholic church.

Also! ARV treatments have had the greatest success after campaigns against dangerous sexual activities: polygamy and homosexual lifestyle. Condoms, have unfortunately often lead to an initial increase in infections due to false perceptions of "safety". Condoms are not 100% effective, and in preventing pregnancy also lag behind.
