We received the following release from the "DA" ("Democratic Alliance")- quite a while ago, however: our primary internet center has been down for a while, and we have not generally been able to publish. The following is nothing but a quote: mentioning such statements by the "DA" ("Democratic Alliance"): is by no means an endorsement of the said statements: nor a guarantee of the accuracy of allegations possibly made by the "DA" ("Democratic Alliance"):

Contents of release we received, via email from the "DA": some time ago:

"DA to lay complaint with Public Protector about "food for votes" allegations
The Democratic Alliance has noted with great concern fresh allegations in media reports of the ANC enticing voters with food parcels in numerous provinces.
“Alarmingly, this dishonest form of electioneering is conducted using taxpayers’ money, involving officials from the Department of Social Development,” said DA spokesperson on social development Janet Semple.
“The DA has raised this issue on numerous occasions and these new allegations prove that this is only the tip of the iceberg.”
Semple said, that based on this new evidence, the DA will write to the public protector requesting an investigation into the possible abuse of state resources.
“Should any individuals wish to come forward to confirm the solicitation of votes with food parcels or any other form of social grant, they can contact Mike Moriarty at 082 492 4410 or email info@da.org.za  "
